Abstract

Graphic images, e.g. cartoons, are applied to surfaces, e.g. walls and ceilings, by projecting acetates, tracing and colouring with paints. Two acetates with alignment targets are used.

Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
The Cartoon and Graphics Application System DESCRIPTION BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to the requirement for individuals, without artistic or with limited artistic ability, to apply cartoon characters or other graphics to walls, ceilings, floors, windows, glass, doors or furniture without the requirement of artistic ability but being given the ability to produce professional quality characters and graphics for their benefit or the benefit of others, in any colour, size or location without the requirement to make special order purchases.
It is well known that domestic and commercial installations of cartoon characters and graphics requires considerable artistic ability and that the cost of purchasing artists time to undertake such a task may prohibit many from aquiring uniquely designed bedrooms for their children or from decorating nurseries or play areas. Additionally, most individuals consider personalised children's bedrooms to be too expensive, difficult and time consuming.
The use of acetate projection reduces the requirement of artistic ability to that of tracing and colouring in of areas by use of two acetates, the first outlining the character or graphic and a colour chart to allow for colouring in or block filling. The second acetate allows for marking of the character or graphic with outline marks and features. Alignment of the two acetates is undertaken by the use of targets pre-printed on the first and second acetate which the user traces when tracing the projection of the first acetate. The user then aligns the target alignments of the second acetate with the traced targets to allow the user to ensure that the character is truly in line, thus making it easy for the user to be able to produce a professional reproduction of the character or graphic.
The combination of the use of projection of acetates with target alignments, allow users to produce an attractive decorative feature whatever shape, size or location the installation is to be.
The previously mentioned disadvantages are overcome by the present invention by the method described and provide for a system of cartoon or graphic installation whereby the user is able to produce high quality graphics and preserve its decorative appearance.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Briefly, a projection system for projecting cartoon and other graphics upon walls, ceilings, doors, floors, windows and glass, furniture and other surfaces comprising of acetates for projection which have a target alignment system so as to ensure that each individual is capable of producing high quality reproductions of characters and graphics without the requirement for artistic ability.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION The cartoon and graphics application system specifically discloses that by use of acetates with a target alignment system, such targets appearing at the four comers of the projected matter, that an individual with little or no artistic ability may decorate or improve a room, wall, floor, other surface, door, ceiling, glass or window easily.
Therefore an object of the present invention is to provide a system for the provision of the ability to recreate characters or graphics without the need for expensive artists or materials.
The system provides for ease of application, ensuring that, with the use of target alignment, anyone may undertake a bespoke decoration of their home, business or club and the like without artists and without use of expensive materials.
The system provides that by projection of characters or graphics upon any surface, the outlining of the character by use of the first acetate or projection material, including the target alignments, an individual may easily reproduce a character or graphic without having artistic ability.
The foregoing summarizes the principal features of the invention and some of its optional aspects. The invention may be further understood by the description of the preferred embodiments.

CONCLUSION The foregoing has constituted a description of specific embodiments showing how the invention may be applied and put into use. These embodiments are only exemplary. The invention in its broadest, and more specific aspects, is further described and defined in the claims which now follow These claims, and the language used therein, are to be understood in terms of the variants of the invention which have been described. They are not to be restricted to such variants, but are to be read as covering the full scope of the invention as is implicit within the invention and the disclosure that has been provided herein.

Claims (6)

The Cartoon and Graphics Application System CLAIMS The embodiments of the invention in which exclusive properties are claimed are as follows : -
1. A method for applying to walls, ceilings, windows, glass, floors, furniture and other surfaces characters or other graphics so as to allow the user to accurately and professionally recreate the said character or graphic without having artistic ability. The system provides for projection material, such as acetate or any other such projection material, which has a target alignment system comprising of two targets which should be lined up in both the first acetate or projection material and the second. The first acetate outlines the character or graphic which is projected by the user and outlined in pen, pencil or marker including the target alignments. The user then uses colour cards to fill in or complete colouring in blocks before applying the second acetate, again aligning the target alignments, wherein details are shown upon the character or graphic upon which the user again traces.
2. The use of the system together with projection material ensures that the user is able to recreate characters or graphics to any size, such being achieved by the user adjusting the projector to create the required size and using the system in accordance with the foregoing.
3. The use of the system also allows the user to project images onto any surface, howsoever difficult or remote that surface may be.
4. The use of the system allows the user to project images and thereby recreate such images at any angle or indeed in comers of rooms.
5. The foregoing system has a target alignment system so that the user is able to project the first acetate and trace, then apply the second acetate by coordinating the target alignments so as to ensure correct and accurate reproduction.
6. The foregoing system allows the user thereof to flip over or invert any image so as to change the aspect of the image, graphic or cartoon and further allow interaction with furniture, doors or other items thereby.
These claims, and the language used therein, are to be understood in terms of the variants of the invention which have been described. They are not to be restricted to such variants, but are to be read as covering the full scope of the invention as is implicit within the invention and the disclosure that has been provided herein.
