Abstract
A sleeve for a flat item such as a CD or DVD comprises two sheet portions made of pliable material. They may be made from a generally rectangular sheet which is folded in half about its mid-length and sealed along the overlapping side edges. There is a triangular projecting portion at each end of the sheet, the shortest side of each triangle being a continuation of a respective one of the longer sides of the rectangle, the triangle tapering from that side to an apex intermediate the ends of a respective one of the shorter sides of the rectangle. The triangular portions are folded over so that the shortest side of each is captured in a respective one of the side seals of the sleeve with each portion located inside the mouth of the sleeve to inhibit falling out of the flat item therein. The pliable material may be plastics such as polyethylene or other material such as absorbent paper treated to be pliable.

Drop & Grab CASE Technical Field This invention relates to a case for keeping daily used items so that when dropped into the case, they are grabbed and cannot fall out unless the user so wishes.
Background The vast consumption of computer media and materials such as recordable
CDs and DVDs is a fact of our daily life. These items are sold in a bulk of 50 and 100 packages without providing any individual case or cover to keep them safe after recording or writing. On the other hand to provide every single CD with a proper box cannot be justified due to the temporary nature and fast use of these items. This invention is an effort to fulfil the task of keeping these items secured with minimum cost and effort, in a suitable way for the fast track working life today. Contrary to the bulky, awkward and expensive storage boxes that exist at the present market, the cheap Drop & Grab Case can store and protect the items such as CDs in a user-friendly way and will only permit removal at the required time by the user.
Essential Technical Feature
A. MATERIAL
The Drop & Grab Case is made of a pliable material such as polyethylene.
This includes any other material rather than plastic that acts pliable such as an absorbent paper specially treated to become pliable. This type of material is essential to maintain the pliability of the folded edges of the opening as they are supposed to grab the content once it drops into the case.
B. FOLDED OPENING
The plastic sheet is cut with special shape at one end, e. g. a rectangle. At the time of sealing to make a case, that excessive edge is folded inside and one side of it is sealed with the other edges of the case. There is an identical but symmetric/mirror cut at the edge of other piece of the case that is folded inside and sealed in the same way. These two folded edges maintain the grab of the content.

Claims (3)
- CLAIMS Drop & Grab CASE 1. A Case made of pliable/plastic material for keeping circular materials such as CDs and DVDs with a folded opening at both opposite sides that grabs the content and does not let it to come out freely. The folded edges are variable to the shape and size of the content.
- 2. A case as claimed in claim no. 1 for keeping any other shaped materials rather than circular. The folded edges are variable to the shape and size of the content.
- 3. A sleeve as claimed in claim no. 1 wherein the pliable material is a non-plastics material treated to be pliable.3. A case as claimed in claim no. 1 made of non-plastic materials, but using a special mechanism to maintain the same pliability for the flip-flap opening edges.4. A case as claimed in claim no. 2 made of non-plastic materials, but using a special mechanism to maintain the same pliability for the flip-flap opening edges.<Desc/Clms Page number 4>Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows 1. A sleeve for a flat item such as a CD, the sleeve comprising two sheet portions which are made of pliable material and are sealed to one another along two overlapping side edges leaving an open mouth at the top of the sleeve, wherein there is a triangular projecting portion at the top of each sheet portion, one side of one triangle being a continuation of the side edge of one sheet portion at one side of the sleeve and one side of the other triangle being a continuation of the side edge of the other sheet portion at the other side of the sleeve, each triangle tapering from that one side thereof to an apex intermediate the side edges of the top of the respective sheet portion, the triangular portions being folded over so that the said one side of each is captured in a respective one of the side seals of the sleeve with each triangular portion located inside the mouth of the sleeve to inhibit falling out of a flat item therein.2. A sleeve as claimed in claim no. 1 wherein the pliable material is plastics.
