Abstract
A hair brush has an interchangeable barrel 4 which rotates about a shaft 8 which is firmly fixed into a handle 9. The barrel is fitted with a plurality of conical prongs 3 arranged in rows. The barrel is held on the shaft by a nut 1 which engages with a thread at the free end of the shaft. The nut may be adjusted toward the barrel acting against a pressure washer 2. This tension adjustment nut may act as a typical clutch mechanism. The nut may be moulded into a semi spherical housing with external graduations to indicate the degree of tension applied to the clutch mechanism. The brush also has a mechanism which prevents the rotation of the barrel. The brake mechanism is operated by a button 7 which causes a spring loaded pin 6 to engage with depressions in the barrel.

HAIR COMBE
This invention relates to a Combe of a different shape and has two types of action that when used the adjustment of balanced and stationary action enables ease of combing awkward tangled hair into straight strands without pulling the hair.
Available combes of known designs are mainly flat and have the disadvantage of pulling tangled hair especially of those of younger children. Irregardless of the variety of widths of teeth. the downward movement of the hand in combing has the tendancy to knot and then pull entanglement of the hair in a hurtful way and to clog the teeth.
An object of this invention is to provide a interchangeable type combe with two actions. Firstly a purpose of untangling different types of hair in a balanced controlled movement containing suitable shaped teeth and which will overcome any pulling of entanglement into strands of straight hair.
Secondly an action applied for normal grooming.
Accordingly, this invention provides for a interchangeable barrell shape combe upon which are rows of Conical shaped prongs in place of teeth.
Supported by two internal disc's, the barrell rotates about the axis of a fixed shaft with a handle containing as part of the shaft a removable usual adjustment clutch action, balancing the method of controlling the revolving combing movement of the prongs by the downward stroke of the hand.
The handle provides a brake stop buttonof known action such that it stops rotation of the barrell for normal easy grooming.
Preferably the clutch adjustment be moulded within a semi-dome housing contain visible external marks of tension applied.
The complete Combe assembly itself would preferably be made from a durable recyclable plasic that remains light and easy to handle and which can offer a variety of colours for the user ; A preffered embodiment of the inventicn will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings ;- FIGURE 1 shows a cut-through section of the side view.
FIGURE 2 shows an end view section looking from the tension end.
FIGURE 3 shows a cut-through end section view from the handle.

As shown in figure 1, this Combe comprises a handle 9, with an extended fixed shaft 8, about which a removable barrell 4, containing rows of external Conical shaped prong 3, rotate.
The rotating barrell is supported internaly by a low friction disc 11, at the tension end and a simular but extended disc 5, by the handle end.
The extended internal support disc 5, projects into a bore of comftable fit within the fronted of the handle between which a low friction slip washer 10, is inserted.
Each support disc has a bore of also comftable fit through which the shaft passes untill the extended disc 5, is pressed against the slip washer 10.
The threaded end of the fixed shaft 12, contains a large nut 1, with a tension pressure washer 2, acting together as a usual clutch such that slight adjustment of the nut increases or decreases tension to the rotation of the barrell against the surface of the support disc 11.
Figure 2, is the end view of the tension end showing the interchangeable barrell 4, containing the external rows of Conical shaped prongs 3, which can be removed by the nut 1, for alternate types of barrells with wider or closer spaces between conical prongs.
Figure 3, is a cut through section showing the brake stop at the handle end of the combe. Comprising of a button 7, with an attached pin and spring 6. Pressing of the button activates the pin into depressions around the tip of the extended support disc preventing rotation of the barrell.
The button is held in place by bottom edge ridges into a simple push fit with extended dowl for returned rocking movement.
