Abstract
A clasp 1 in the form of a double sided clip, which on one side clips a writing utensil 2, and the other side clips on to a finger 3 such that the writing utensil can be used without the need to grasp the writing utensil between the thumb and forefinger. The clasp can be formed integrally with a writing utensil. For use by people who cannot easily move their fingers eg arthritis sufferers.

The Finger writing utensil This invention relates to the holding of a writing utensil, without the need to grasp the writing utensil in the normal manner, between thumb and fingers. For a number of years it has been known, that writing with a writing utensil for long periods of time, can lead to a condition commonly known as writers cramp, this can be both uncomfortable and painful. It has also been known that people suffering from such conditions as Arthritis, to the wrist and finger joints, have great difficulty holding a writing utensil in the normal manner, between thumb and fingers. Young children have a difficulty in learning to hold a writing utensil, when first attending school.
According to the present Invention there is provided a means which can releasably secure a writing utensil. For further reference this shall be known as the clasp. The clasp can be releasably secured to the finger, in order to hold the writing utensil, without the need to grasp the writing utensil, between the thumb and finger in order to write, therefore removing the stress from the finger and wrist joints.
A specific embodiment of the Invention will now described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Fig 1 Shows in perspective the clasp 1 the writing utensil 2 releasably secured to clasp 1 in situ releasably secured to finger 3 ready for writing.
Fig 2 Illustrates the writing utensil 2 releasably secured to the clasp 1 removed from the finger 3.
Fig 3 Shows the writing utensil 2 removed from the clasp 1. clasp 1 removed from the finger 3 Referring to the drawings The clasp 1 comprises of a preformed shape which can form either part of the writing utensil 2, or made as a separate Item for use with writing utensil 2 which can be releasably secured, to the finger 3 in order that the person may write by small movements of the finger with out the need to grasp the writing utensil between thumb and fingers.

Claims (5)
- CLAIMS 1) A means of releasably securing a writing utensil, which can be releasably secured to the finger, in order to write with out the need to grasp the writing utensil between thumb and finger.
- 2) A device according to claim 1 where the means of releasably securing the writing utensil to the finger can form part of the main body of the writing utensil.
- 3) A device according to claims 1 & 2 wherein the means of releasably securing a writing utensil does not form any part of the writing utensil until the writing utensil is manually placed within the device.
- 4) A device according to claims 1 2 & 3 where in the means of releasably securing the writing utensil, can be releasably secured to the finger in order to write without the need to grasp the writing utensil between thumb and finger.
- 5) A device as in any proceeding claims described herein with reference to figures 1-3 of the accompanying drawings.
