Abstract

Aminoanthraquinone-acridone and -thioxanthone derivatives are obtained by condensing a 1 : 3 : 5-triazine derivative halogenated in the nucleus with a 4-aminoanthraquinone-41-halogen-2 : 1-thioxanthone or -acridone; the products may in some cases be simultaneously or subsequently condensed with other compounds; they dye cotton from the vat in violet, blue, brown, green, grey, &c. shades. The following examples are given: (1) 1 mol. cyanuric chloride is condensed with 2 mols. 4-aminoanthraquinone-41-chloro-2 : 1-thioxanthone (if desired in the presence of diethylaniline) and the product further condensed with aniline; (2) 1 mol. 1 : 5-diaminoanthraquinone is condensed with 2 mols. cyanuric chloride, and the product condensed further with 1 mol. 4-aminoanthraquinone-41-chloro-2 : 1-thioxanthone and 1 mol. 1-aminoanthraquinone; (3) 1 mol. cyanuric chloride is condensed with 2 mols. 4-aminoanthraquinone-41-chloro-2 : 1-acridone in the presence or not of diethylaniline. Dyestuffs are also specified from the following components: 1 mol. cyanuric chloride, 1 mol. 4-aminoanthraquinone - 41-chlor-2 : 1-thioxanthone, and 1 mol. 4-aminoanthraquinone-2 : 1-acridone or 1 mol. 1-aminoanthraquinone; 1 mol. 1 : 5- and 1 : 8-diaminoanthraquinone (mixture), 2 mols. cyanuric chloride, 1 mol. 4-aminoanthraquinone-41-chloro-2 : 1-thioxanthone, and 1 mol. 4-aminoanthraquinone-2 : 1-acridone; 1 mol. cyanuric chloride, 1 mol. 4-aminoanthraquinone-41-chloro-2 : 1-acridone, and 1 mol. aminoanthraquinone. 4-Aminoanthraquinone-41-halogen-2 : 1-thioxanthones and -acridones are obtained by condensing 1-halogen-4-amino- or 1-halogen-4-acidylaminoanthraquinone with a 2-amino- or 2-mercapto-4-halogenbenzoic acid and then effecting ring closure, if necessary after saponifying the acidyl group.
