Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
Floral packaging The invention relates to an all-in-one readymade packaging, which may contains water,
for hand-tied bouquets with generally spiralled stems or other floral materials such as pot plants. I Bouquets are currently packaged with cellophane or waterproof materials in a similar way, but it must be done in stages, Le. : A piece of cellophanestatound the top of the flowers to form a collar, which then must be sellotape and stapled together, then one or two pieces of cellophane around the stems, attached using the same method.
The advantages of our invention are: It minimises preparation time; as the packaging is ready to use, and is assembled in one easy operation. It minimises damage to floral products ; through limited handling, therefore making it less time consuming and more cost effective to a florist.
This design forms an easy an all-in-one; decorative package; (which can contain water) for hand-tied bouquets and various floral products.
This invention provides a package through utilising a drawstring devise, the upper part of which forms a decorative and protective collar around the heads of the flowers or plants, which could have a reinforced bottom enabling it to hold water (if required) and stand upright.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
The invention could negate the use of a vase, useful for hospitals etc. Floral designs can be enhanced by the use of different colours and materials. Flowers and plants can be kept in the packaging; therefore bouquets etc, purchased prior to a birthday could be kept in fresher condition.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1: Shows the view of the packaging when it is flat, before use.
Figure 2: Shows the freestanding bouquet placed in the middle of the packaging; the drawstring is beginning to be pulled and the plastic toggle is pushed slightly up towards the package.
Figure 3: Shows packaging in place with drawstring tight and toggle secure.
As shown in fig 1:
erz 1. Comprises of one shaped or two pieces on top of each other ; of cellophane or waterproof materials.
2. Reinforced bottom made by sealing an extra piece of (1). (Optional) 3. Drawstring pull and toggle.
4. Drawstring channel, (maybe heat sealed, devised with punched holes or stuck with various adhesives.
5. Message and care card pocket.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
As shown in fig 2: Bouquet placed in middle of packaging.
1. Sides start to come up to form a decorative collar around the flower heads, when drawstring is pulled and toggle is tightened (3).
2. Reinforced bottom (optional) keeps stems in place and helps the package to be watertight.
3. Drawstring is starting to be pulled through (4)-drawstring Channel.
As shown in fig 3:
1. A decorative collar is formed around the heads of the flowers to protect and enhance the bouquet.
2. Reinforced bottom (optional) helps keep packaging watertight when bouquet is upright and freestanding.
3. Drawstring is pulled tight around the bouquet and secured with the plastic toggle, before adding water to the bag.
5. Card pocket is in easy view for security and visual access to important information.
. 7Figure 1 : (4) Heat sealed (or other method) between (l)-"Cellophane", (if two sheets are used), with (3)-"Drawstring and toggle", pushing through it so the drawstring pull and toggle protrude to the outside of the design. (Alternatively if using one sheet of (1), the channel can be heat-sealed or adhered to the outside of the design). The bottom (2) can be reinforced with an extra piece of cellophane and sealed in to the inside for extra stability and waterproofing. The "Card pocket" - (5) can be heat sealed on to the comer of the design.
