Abstract

A bag carrier comprises supports 3 adhered to a flexible back panel 4 and a flexible front panel 2. The panels are connected by means of two straps 1, each strap 1 is attached to the top of the back panel 4 which reach over the shoulders of the wearer to join the sides of the front panel 2, the straps then reach around the torso to be attached to the bottom of the back panel. The front panel may be made of two or more sections which are separable for ease of access. Each support 3 comprises either a hook or strip of flexible material with one end attached to the bag carrier and the other end having velcro <SP>RTM</SP> to be attached to corresponding velcro <SP>RTM</SP> on the bag carrier or on the strip. The carrier bags hang off the supports allowing the users arms to be free.

The Description Background to the problem Carrying more than one fairly heavy bag (ie plastic carrier bags) by hand is often cumbersome and uncomfortable, especially for a distance which necessitates a walk greater than 10 minutes. This solution enables an individual to carry a number of bags in a comfortable manner whilst also allowing freedom for the individual to use one's hands.
Essential and important features The key to this innovation (the'carrier') is that it allows bags to hang from any of a number of supports attached to the back and/or front panel of the'carrier'. The two flexiblepanels of the'carrier'are held by means two straps, which join the two panels at the top over the shoulder, and at the sides and around the torso/midriff.
There front panel may also comprise more than one section so that these two sections can detach (and reattach) to allow the individual to place bag carrier over the shoulders with greater ease.

Claims (5)

  1. CLAIMS 1 A bag carrier, comprising supports adhered to a flexible back panel and a flexible front panel connected by means of two straps, which reach over the shoulders and around the torso.
  2. 2 A bag carrier as claimed in claim 1 where the front panel comprises two or more sections which are separable to allow the individual to place bag carrier on shoulders with greater ease.
  3. 3 A bag carrier as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2, where each support comprises
    1 or more hooks.
  4. 4 A bag carrier as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2where each support comprises a strip of flexible material which at one end is permanently fixed to the bag carrier and where the other end is velcrohned to fix it to a corresponding piece of vetcrd on the bag carrier or elsewhere on the strap itself.
  5. 5 A bag carrier substantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawing.
