Abstract
Shared program function blocks are allocated among a plurality of jobs running on a plurality of processor nodes (32-37) in a multiprocessor computer system. An indication is received that a first job running on a first processor node (32) is releasing a program function block. If the release program function block has been identified as being used more than once during execution of the first job, then other jobs running on the system can be prevented from using the released program function block. If the released program function block has not been so identified, it can immediately be made available to other jobs.
Description
57) Shared program function blocks are allocated among a plurality of jobs
running on a plurality of processor nodes 32-37) in a m ultiprocessor computer system. An indication is received that a first job running on a first processor node 32) is releasing a program function block. If the release program function block has been identified as being used more than once during execution of the first job, then other jobs running on the system can be prevented from using the released program function block. If the released program function block has not been so identified, it can immediately be made available to other jobs.
