Abstract

A dining room table comprises a table top and folding legs 2. Typically, the table top is also foldable by virtue of a main hinge 4. Hook and loop fasteners 1 may be used to secure the legs when out of use. Preferably, securing pins 3 are used to secure the legs when in a fully extended position.

FULLY FOLDING DINING TABLE The invention relates to a fully folding dining table and comprises of four attached folding legs and a folding table top.

The advantages of this are as follows :- a) Easy assemble. b) Requires no tools, nuts or bolts to assemble. c) The dining table is totally self contained. d) It provides space saving storage. e) Easy and quick to fold for relocation.

The idea of this invention is to provide the customer with a fully sized dining table that easily folds and stores with minimum space.

A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: FIGURE 1 shows the erected dining table and the direction of the folding table legs.

FIGURE 2 shows the dining table fully folded in the storage position.

FIGURE3 shows the underside of the erected dining table with the table legs in the folded and secured position.

FIGURE 4 shows the leg brackets which contain the moveable leg securing pin.

FIGURE 5 shows the leg bracket with the folding hasp and securing pin in the locked position FIGURE 6 shows the velcro strap used to secure the leg ends to the underside of the table.

FIGURE 7 shows the buckle which the velcro loops through to secure the leg.

The following instructions apply to the assemble of the dining table.

The dining table in its storage position (FIGURE 2) is simply folded out using the main hinge 4, whilst on its side as shown in FIGURE 3.

The velcro legs securing straps 1, as referenced in FIGURES 3 and 6, are

released to allow the legs 2, to move to the fully extended position as shown in FIGURE 1 The securing pin 3, as shown in FIGURES 4 and 5, is locked into the closed position, as shown in FIGURE 5, thus securing the legs in place.

The velcro straps 1, are inserted through the loop and the strap is secured to itself in the tucked position.

The securing latches 5, as shown in FIGURE 3 are twisted to the locked position.

The table is then simply lifted into position for use as in FIGURE 1.

1. CLAIMS A folding dining room table comprising of the table top and folding legs, needing no tools, nuts or bolts to be erect ed.
