237,517. Dyus, F. A. Feb. 26, 1925. Nets.-A net comprises a square frame 1 covered with netting, and connected by side-posts 4 to an upper and larger square frame 8 also covered with netting. Frames 10, covered with netting, are hinged to each side of the lower frame 1, and are connected by ropes 12 to the hauling rope 3. When the net rests on the bottom with the hauling rope slack, the frames 10 fall, leaving the sides of the net open; when the rope 13 is hauled the frames 10 rise so as to close the net. The frame 1 is provided with looped corners 2, Fig. 4, to which loops 3 on the posts 4 are hinged; the double loop 2 limits the outward movement of the posts. The posts 4 are provided with shoulders 5 near the upper ends which are inserted in loops in the frame 8 and secured by nuts 7. The net may thus be collapsed. Alternatively the joints may be made permanent by brazing or otherwise. In modifications, the device is made oblong or cylindrical and may have only two doors. The rope 13 may be attached to a float which may be engaged by a hooked or other pole in order to raise the net.
