Abstract

A notepad has more than one low tack adhesive strip on the reverse side to enable secure attachment and to prevent curl. The strips run part of the way across the notepad allowing easy removal of the pages from the pad. Tabs (Fig 3) are connected to the edge of the notes and may be detachable by serrations.

Description

STICK-FIRM POST IT NOTE
This invention relates to a post it note that will be less likely to become detached or curl UP.
Post itpotes are well known office stationery which can be written on and nonpermanently stuck to other objects such as another sheet of paper by a gummed strip on the reverse side. When no longer required they can easily be removed without leaving a mark on, or tearing the object.
However, Post it notes regularly fall off in in-trays when further paperwork is added to the in-tray. They also curl up when stuck to a desk, making the marks written on the post it note difficult to see.
According to the present invention there is provided an additional or additional strip (s) of gum on the reverse side of the post it note; advantageously, one across the top and one across the bottom. This poses a problem of difficulty in removing the note from the pad in which it is sold. However there are various solutions. For example, advantageously the strips could go only part of the way accross the note allowing the pad to be riffled, for example, at the side, allowing the user to grip and remove a single note from the pad and also from objects to which it is later attached.
Alternatively, though not exclusively, a comer could be left free of gum, or one or more detachable (e. g. serrated) tabs (or non detachable tabs) could be added at any point on the pad, allowing the user to remove the post it note by gripping the tab, and allowing the user to pull the note off the pad and then remove the tab by tearing along the (for example) serration. All of these options allow the pad to remain flat for writing on.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 and Figure 2 show example layouts of the reverse side of the Stick-Firm post it note with two strips of gum extending part of the way across the note.
Figure 3 shows an example layout of the Stick-Firm post it note with the addition of a serrated tab.
Referring to the drawing the Stick-Firm post it notes in Figures 1 and 2 have two gummed strips on its reverse side which (as an example) are 66% of the width of the gummed strip on a conventional post it note and run (as an example) only 75% of the way across the note. This example means that the amount of gum required for each note is the same as for a conventional post it note.
Referring to Figure 3 the Stick-Firm post it note incorporates two strips of gum that are (as an example) 50% of the width of the current design and run all the way across the note, and a serrated tab (as an example on the right hand side) that can be removed from the note when no longer required. This tab enables the user to riffle the pad.
