Abstract

A passive reverse cone noise filter 7 is built into custom moulded in ear communication systems providing two-way communications. It protects the users hearing from potentially damaging over volume speech and noise generated through the in ear communications speaker. In addition this filter also amplifies the voice vibrations from the inner ear to the microphone improving the quality of the transmitted voice.

Description

IN EAR COMMUNICATIONS OVER VOLUME PROTECTION The invention relates to a passive noise filter built into custom moulded in ear communication systems providing two-way communications.
Such in ear communication systems are well known, but suffer from the following disadvantages. The speakers are not protected from potential over volume of speech, which can potentially damage hearing.
The invention is the installation of an inline passive noise filter to reduce potential over volume to a level that is comfortable to the human ear.
The invention has the following advantages. It protects the users hearing from potentially damaging high volume speech and noise generated through the in ear communications speaker.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1, shows a side view of the vented construction custom moulded earpiece, which incorporates a passive reverse cone noise filter inline with the built in two-way communications system.
As shown in Figure 1 the earpieces (1) are moulded from solid silicone. This drawing illustrates'Solid' construction moulded earpieces with a built in two-way communications system (5) by means of an internal speaker and microphone that are either hard wired to the radio system or have a wireless configuration (6). The communications system also incorporates a passive reverse cone noise filter (7) that protects the ear from over volume of the speaker. In addition this reverse cone filter (7) also amplifies the voice vibrations from the inner ear to the microphone improving the quality of the transmitted voice.
This system completely blocks external sound but enables the user to communicate by radio link (5) without the need to move out of the noisy environment.

Claims (3)

  1. CLAIMS IN EAR COMMUNICATIONS OVER VOLUME PROTECTION 1. A passive inline reverse cone noise filter built into custom moulded in ear communication systems providing two-way communications. The installation of the filter reduces potential over volume of the speaker to a level that is comfortable to the human ear.
  2. 2. A passive inline reverse cone noise filter built into custom moulded in ear communication systems providing two-way communications as claimed in Claim 1. The installation of the filter also amplifies the voice vibrations from the inner ear to the microphone improving the quality of the transmitted voice.
  3. 3. A passive inline reverse cone noise filter built into custom moulded in ear communication systems substantially as described herein with reference to Figure 1 of the accompanying drawing.
