Abstract

The personal diet monitor calculates the amount of calories consumed by an end user. It is programmable for each user in order to deliver personal progress and advice on next calories target. The normal frequencies for portion entry in the unit is reminded by mean of a blip(sound alarm). The unit also calculates the Body/Mass Index (BMI).

Product Description Personal Diet Monitor Background The invention relates to a portable programmable calories target indicator involving sportive activities record with evaluations.
Problems that it solves Calories'counting is well known, but it involves a difficult and dedicated task affecting a lot of people in terms of discouragement and in getting satisfactory results. It involves people who want to reduce, increase or control their eating habits. In order to help them to change their habits and to raise consciousness, the indication of appropriate frequencies (Time), range of normal calorie consumption and friendly encouragement is needed.
What it does.
An object of this invention is to provide a portable-programmable calories target indicator set for each i user which allows ease of access and use, programming facilities, progress evaluation and challenging sportive activity record.
Essential features.
This invention provides an electronic unit (hardware and software), a screen (for display and data entry), a keypad and the main box with its lid (Some important features but not essential) (Plastic or metallic)
Besinnin2 of the description. A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to accompanying drawing in which : Figure 1 shows a front view of the whole electronic calories target indicator.
Figure 2 is a section view showing hardware and electronic parts.
Principle of the nrosram.
In order to set a daily target for each individual, calculations have to be done: Calculation 1: To determine if body is underweight, healthy or overweight - The BMI. Body Mass Index.
BMI= Weight/ (Weight *Height) Weight in kg, Height m meter If BMI equal to: 16-18 Underweight 20-25 healthy weight 27-30 Overweight Calculation 2: Fmd a ratio which compare the normal calories consumption for an individual and the new calories target that have to be taken to loose or gain weight (maximum I pounds a week).
Set up for each individual: - Entry of data to calculating the BAI Body Mass Index, which evaluates if body is healthy The data will comprise, sex, weight, height, age, body shape and level of activity (option).
- Entry of data to setting beep reminder for personal frequencies of daily consumption if desired Example : Breakfast usually taken at 7: 30, Morning break at 10 : 30 am etc.
PS. The beep reminder can be deactivated if not required Storing information : Entry of information by daily meal aimed to give indications on meals taken during the day Selection of the desired function, Breakfast, Morning Break, Lunch, Afternoon Break, Dinner, Evening Break
Selection of the desired type of portion, Drink, Fruit, Meat, Vegetable, Desert and MiscellaneouslMeals.
Selection of the desired portion, Eg : Under Dnnk, Water, Juice, Alcohol, coffee and the.
Selection of the desired quantity, 25 cl, 50, cl, 100 cl, 1 pint, 1.5 pints and 2 pints.

Claims (3)

  1. Claims 1. A Personal Diet Monitor comprises an electronic unit (harware and software), a screen (for display and data entry), a keypad and the main box with its lid. The product is portable and programmable and delivers progress of consumption of calories with recommendations for the next day defined by an amount of calorie target. It also records sportives activities done by end user and awarding credits according to progress.
  2. 2. A Personal Diet Monitor as claim 1 wherein normal frequencies of food consumption are signaled by a blip as reminder.
  3. 3. A Personal Diet Monitor as claim 1 wherein touch keys represent the different meals of the day.
