Abstract
An airtight container such as a plastic bottle for a fizzy drink has convex surface regions (9) which may be pushed into the container to reduce its volume and increase the internal pressure. Preferably, the regions (9) snap between convex and concave forms.
Description
An adjustable airtight container
This invention relates to a device that eliminates the air gap in a drinks container, and places the contents under some pressure.
Backgound
When plastic drinks containers such as a large fizzy drinks bottle are opened and periodically consumed there is a tendency for the contents to go flat, a contributory factor is because of the lack of pressure in the empty part of the bottle.
There is available though not widely used, various kinds of collapsible bottles that place the contents under pressure and/or reduce the internal space.
However, the bottle herein described works on a different principle to any that I have found todate.
Example
According to this example there is an adjustable air tight container (plastic bottle) that works by means of a convex style raised areas/blister/s, that may be indented to collapse catastrophically. They are so designed, to now take up the same general shape, but in a concave form.
Due the interference in the original moulded form of the bottle, and the shape of the raised areas, when the said area/s are pushed in, they have a snappy springy effect as they reform in a concave manor, that provide a pressure on the internal space, when the top is securely closed.
I. E. Some of the contents are consumed, the top is replaced and the user presses in the bottle to reduce the internal space and place the remaining contents under pressure.
When the contents is required again, the top is opened and the liquid poured out. The raised areas/blister on top is retrieved (made convex) by gripping the neck.
The top is replaced and the process starts again. The side blisters/raised areas may also be utilised.
Fig 107 shows a blister style bottle with a convex areas under the neck, and at the sides of the bottle 9.
Fig 108 show the same bottle with the raised areas pushed in.
Fig 109 shows a general three diamentional drawing of a transparent bottle.
Claims (2)
- Claims 1 An adjustable air tight container having an exterior defining an internal chamber, the internal chamber having a volume, the exterior defining at least one region having a periphery of relative weakness such that at lest one region may be deformed within the periphery of relative weakness such that the internal volume of the chamber is reduced.
- 2 An adjustable air tight container as described in 1, that places the contents under pressure by the catastrophic collapse of the raised area/s into the chamber, and due to the natural tendency of the material to reform in its original shape, places the chamber under pressure when the convex area/s snaps into its concave position when the cap is firmly in place.
