Abstract

A golf putting game comprises a board including a number of putting greens, a ball (fig.5), a putting club (fig.2), a putting top (fig.3) to randomly determine the number of attempts a player has to putt the ball and a set of question cards having answers on a separate sheet. The putting greens may form the word "Puttrivia".

Description

PUTTR ! V ! A The Invention is a Game Background A Game is competitive and a popular activity which requires time, skill and knowledge and encourages social interaction and enthusiasm and give people the opportunity to spend their leisure time with each other in a positive way. Many games have developed to become specialised sporting activities which provide competitors with the impetus to develop greater potential and dedication when the winner of events are rewarded with prizes. Games provide competitors with the drive to develop greater skills and increase their awareness towards commitment to objectives.
As a wider cross section of society becomes involved, interest and rewards are maximised.
PUTTRIVIA like many other games have these said attributes.
According to the present invention, there is provided a flat rectangular board with the letters PUTTRIVIA uniquely designed on it Each letter has a space within it called the Putting Green. The Putting Club is the instrument the player will use to drive the ball from a spot at one extreme end of the letter into a hole at the other extreme end of the said letter on the Putting Green. There are nine letters ; a number on a flag identifies each one. Each game has a pack of cards with questions and the answers on an answer sheet There are Putting Clubs, Putting Balls, Putting Tops, Flags, a set of PUTTRIVIA rules, a set of Display Cards with questions and a set of answers to the questions on an answer sheet The specific features of the Game will now be described.
The Game Board comprises a set of letters formed in a unique pattern of the word PUTTRIVIA.
Each letter of the word PUTTRIVIA is so spaced allowing the free flow of a ball within it on the Putting Green. The Putting Hole is at one extreme end of the Putting Green for the ball to be driven into by the player for a successful Putt from a spot on one end of the Putting Green with a Putting Club. The Ball is round and the flags are placed in numerical order from 1 (one) to 9 (nine) identifying each stage of the sequence of the game. The player will spin the Putting Top provided in the game to secure the maximum attempts to which he is entitled to Putt the ball within that specific Putting Green. There is a pack of Display Cards with questions in picture form and phrases for a player to answer. A successful answer gives the player the control of the game.
Fig. 1 Game Board PUTTRIVIA The letters which compose the word.
Putting Green The playing space on the board surrounded by the border of each letter.
Putting Hole The hole on the Putting Green for Putting the game ball.
Flags In numerical sequence to identify each stage of the game.

Claims to Rules
1. The aim of the Game PUTRIVIA is to spot the Putting Ball on one extreme end of the Putting Green and use the Putting Club to tap the ball from that said spot. The ball must enter the Putting Hole at the other extreme end of the said Putting Green for a successful Putt (Fig 1) The number of attempts the player has to Putt the ball is limited to the number of attempts indicated by the spin of the Putting Top.
2. A flip of the coin gives the initiative to the first player to start the game.
3. The player must then give an answer to the question on the Display Card.
4. If the player answers the question incorrectly, the question passes to the other player
5. If a player answers correctly he would then have to spin the Putting Top.
6. The Putting Top has a display of two sets of numbers, these are (1) and (2). The point at which the Top settles is the number of attempts the player has to Put the ball
7. If the player does not succeed to Putt the ball in the maximum number of attempts as claimed in Rule 6 the control of the game passes to the next player and the game continues as in Rule 3.
8. If the player makes a successful Putt as clamed in Rule 1 he proceeds to the next Putting Green and the game continue as in Rule 1.
9. The first player to complete 9 (nine) Putts wins the game.
10. If the player taps the ball out of the Putting Green, it will be counted as an attempt to Putt the ball.
11. The answers for the questions on the Display Cards would be on a separate sheet.
12. The recommended number of players is 2 (two) and the recommended time for each is 30 (thirty) minutes.
