Abstract

A wheeled 10 trolley, comprises four rigid folding seats or panels 5, 6 fitted in pairs to both sides of the trolley via back plates and eyebolts 8 supporting external legs 7 of the seats 5,6 and may comprise storage space such as provided by a wire basket 21. Each pair of seats / panels 5,6 may fold one 5 inside the other 6 and rest on lipped shelves 9 during transportation of the trolley. The trolley may further feature a hole 16 for a parasol and a handle 14 which may fold down.

Description

MOBILE SEATS WITH STORAGE This invention relates to mobile seating usually with storage. Mobile seating is well known for its use by the elderly or slightly infirm. Built mainly on a wheeled trolley with a single seat and storage under. They come in various types but always with only one seat. This leaves anyone in attendance without a seat and having to find an alternative.

This invention will show a system to seat from one to four persons, for use almost anywhere that involves walking. For example, large indoor or outdoor events, down to shopping or leisure pursuits.

Accompanying drawings will show a specific embodiment of the invention described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings 1 of 3-3 of 3.

Figure 1 shows the rear or pedestrian end of the unit.

Figure 2 shows the opposite or front end of the unit.

Figure 3 shows one side of the unit. The other side being identical.

Figure 4 shows the whole unit with all four seats fully extended.

Referring to the drawings the seating comprises two sets of two seats 5 and 6. These fold together into a depth of approximately 25 mm and are fitted with external legs 7, to one end. They are then dropped down through eye-bolts 8, which are attached to back plates on either side of the main unit. They are rested on lipped shelf plate 9 to avoid dragging the ground.

The pedestrian end of the unit 1, shows wheels 10, fitted on the inside of the main frame 11, with short axles 12, through main frame 11, wheel 10, and into supporting bracket 13.

A push handle 14, is shown with an infill panel 15, and a square hole 16, in the centre.

Swivel pins 17, are fitted through main frame 11, and handle 14. Lower down locking pins (spring-loaded) 18, are fitted through brackets 19, into handle 14.

Drawing 2 shows the front end of the unit with wheels 10, on the inside of the main frame 11, and a single axle 20, going through both wheels into the main frame.

Drawing 3 shows rounded comers to main frame 11. The wire basket 21, shown in part on all drawings has a flat plate floor with square hole 16, in the centre.

The unit can be operated as a shopping trolley and with the seats removed is very light weight. The seats 5 and 6, are very easy to remove, replace and extend. The panelled handle 16, can be lowered onto the main frame 11, for stowage or to act as a table-top when required. The square hole 16, in both handle and floor panels will allow the fitting of a parasol if needed.

Claims

CLAIMS 1. A group of four rigid folding seats fitted in pairs to both sides of a wheeled unit through back plates and eyebolts that support the external legs of the seats.
2. The seats as claimed in claim 1 will, in pairs, fold one inside the other, back to back, in a depth of approximately 25 mm, and rest on lipped shelves when stowed.
3. A wheeled unit as claimed in claim 1 has four wheels set inside the frame and a wire basket with a hole in the centre of the floor. There is also a hole in the centre of the folding handle to fit a parasol if required.
4. Mobile seats with storage as claimed in preceding claims, made from a combination of metal, wood and plastic.
5. A mobile seating assembly substantially as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

A mobile seating assembly comprising a group of four rigid folding seats removably fitted in pairs to both sides of a wheeled unit through back plates and eyebolts that support the external legs of the seats.

2. A mobile seating assembly as claim in claim 1 in which the seats, in pairs, fold one inside the other, back to back, in a depth of approximately 25mm, and rest on lipped shelves when stowed.

3. A mobile seating assembly as in claim 1 in which the wheeled unit has four wheels set inside a frame and a wire basket with a hole in the centre of the floor, and a folding handle with a hole in the centre thereof, which may allow the fitting of a parasol.

4. A mobile seating assembly as claimed in preceding claims, made from a combination of metal, wood and plastic.
