Abstract
A collapsible bag filler comprises at least two tapered funnel sections 3-5 telescopically fitted inside each other when collapsed (see Figure 1) and extendable to vary the length of the bag filler, a hinged handle 1 and means for fitting a bag to the bag filler. The bag filler can be placed inside an open end of a bag and provide support for the bag. A seal is formed between the funnel sections 3-5 when in the fully extended position.
Description
The Bag Mate
This invention relates to a tapered telescopically extended open-ended funnel
Description
Plastic bags of all sizes are used all over the world of the collection and subsequent disposal of waste, as well as for use in the building industry for the packing of sand or gravel
Heavy-duty plastic bags are also used throughout the world in the construction industry for the collection of rubble.
However the use of rubble bags m the construction industry to fill up with rubble, sand, small stones and any other material that can be put in these bags, requires the use of two people to fill one bag.
The tapered telescopically extended open ended funnel to be known as
The Bag Mate facilitates the filling of rubble bags or any other plastic bag by one person, reducing the time and labour to fill up the bag.
Rubble or any other suitable material can be placed by hand, spade or shovel inside the Bag Mate which itself is placed inside the open end of the bag to be filled. The Bag Mate acts as a very wide funnel providing support to the bag fitted.
The Bag Mate is a tapered telescopically extended open-ended funnel with a hinged handle and a means of fitting the bag to the Bag Mate, which can be altered in height by the telescopic extension of one of its sections.
A description of the Bag Mate will now be made referring to the following diagrams.
Figure 1 shows a side view of the Bag Mate showing the handle 1, attached to the bag support 2 by means of a simple eyehook. The inner tapered telescopic extensions 4 and 5 are indicated, hidden from view.
Figure 2 shows a side view, with one section 4 extended fully, held in place by way of friction between the outer and inner section.
Figure 3 shows a side view of two sections 4 and 5 fully extended, both held in place by friction between the inner surface of one section and the outer surface of the next section.
In figures 1,2 and 3, the open-ended section of the Bag Mate is indicated as 6.
Figure 4 shows a plan view of the Bag Mate with the handle 1 in the upright position. The inner tapered telescopic extensions 4 and 5 are also indicated.
Claims (1)
- Claims I) A bag filler called the Bag Mate which comprises A tapered telescopically extended open-ended funnel with a hinged handle and a means of fitting the bag to the bag filler, which can be altered in height by the telescopic extension of one of its section 2) A bag filler as claimed in claim 1 where at one or more extensions may be added, by the placement of each extension section inside the previous section.3) A bag filler as claimed in claim I or claim 2 where each extension comprises a tapered open-ended funnel.4) A bag filler as claimed in clam 3 where each tapered open-ended funnel section is of a material so as to fonn a tight seal with the previous section when fully extended.5) A bag filler as described here in with reference to figures 1 to 4 of the accompanying drawings.Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows 1) A collapsible bag filler comprising at least two tapered funnel sections telescopically fitted inside each other when collapsed and extendable to vary the length of said bag filler, a hinged handle attached to said bag filler and means for fitting a bag to the bag filler ; wherein, in use, the bag filler is placed inside the open-end of and provides support for the bag to be filled.2) A collapsible bag filler as claimed in claim 1 wherein each tapered funnel section forms a seal with the previous tapered funnel section when fully extended 3) A collapsible bag filler as claimed in claim 1 or 2 wherein an openended telescopic funnel can be placed inside a waste bag for support, whilst proceeding to fill the bag with waste. Which is then removed by the connected hinged handle.4) A bag filler as described here in with reference to figures 1 to 4 of the accompanying drawings
