Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1> SUPPORT FRAME The present invention relates generally to a frame for supporting an article, and more particularly to a support frame for holding curtains, shades, shade rollers, and the like.
There are a variety of conventional support frames available in the market place. These conventional support frames are monotonous in design and are not cost-effective. In addition, these conventional support frames are not provided with means to locate an article at a desired position when the article is held by the support frames.
It would be desirable to be able to provide an improved support frame which is cost-effective and durable.
In keeping with the principle of the present invention, a support frame comprises a fixation rod, a cord controlling member, a cord movino, member and a L-shaped piece. The motion of the cord is controlled and assisted by the cord controlling member and the cord moving member. The service life spans of the cord and the fixation rod of the support frame are effectively prolonged.
The features and the advantages of the present invention will be more readily understood upon a thouOrhtful deliberation of the tn

following detailed description of a preferred embodiment of the present invention with reference to the accompanying drawings, of which: FIG. I shows a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
FIG. 2 shows an exploded view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
FIG. 3 shows a sectional view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
FIG. 4 shows another sectional view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
FIG. 5 shows a schematic view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention in use.
FIG. 6 shows another schematic view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention in use.
As shown in FIGS. 1-6, a support frame embodied in the present invention is formed of a fixation rod 10, a cord controlling member 11, a cord moving member 12, and a plurality of L-shaped pieces 15.
The fixation rod 10 has a predetermined length and a C-shaped cross section. The cross section of the fixation rod 10 may be dependent on the shape of the cord controlling member 11 and the shape of the cord moving member 12.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
The cord controlling member 11 is of a rectangular construction and is provided with two rollers and a locating piece 13 by which the cord controlling member 11 is fastened with the fixation rod 10 in connection with a screw 14.
The cord moving member 12 is provided in the horizontal portion thereof with an oval hole 122 and is further provided with a receiving slot located under the horizontal portion to receive a roller 121. The cord moving member 12 is fastened with the fixation rod 10 by a locating piece 13 and a screw 14. The roller 121 is intended to facilitate the pulling of a cord 16. The cord moving member 12 may be fastened with the ceiling by a screw 14 which is fastened onto the ceiling via the oval hole 122.
The L-shaped pieces 15 are fastened at one end with the cord moving member 12 by a screw 14 and are provided at other end with an oval hole and a round hole for fastening the L-shaped pieces 15 with a wall by a screw.
The cord controlling member I I and the cord moving member 12 are fastened with the ceiling, whereas the L-shaped pieces 15 are fastened with the wall. The position of the cord moving member 12 is adjusted in accordance with the work requirement. As a result, it is not necessary to perform the locating holes of the fixation rod 10, the cord pulling member 11 and the cord moving member 12. With the assistance of the roller 121 of the cord moving member 12, the cord 16 can be pulled smoothly. In the meantime, the service life span of the cord 16 is prolonged.
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
Figs. 5 and 6 show a cloth curtain comprising a series of parallel folds 17 sewn in the back, the folds 17 having holes therein through which the cord 16 passes, the cord 16 co-operating with the components 11 5 and 12 to enable raising and lowering of the curtain on appropriate pulling and release of the cord in conventional manner.
The invention thus provides a support frame formed of a fixation rod, a cord controlling member and a 10 plurality of cord moving members. The cord controlling member and the cord moving members are secured to the fixation rod by locating pieces each of which is provided with a threaded hole, a screw extending through each member and into the threaded hole as best seen in 15 Figs. 3 and 4.
The cord moving members and/or the cord controlling members are provided with oval holes in the tops thereof by which the fixation rod can be screwed to the ceiling.
Alternatively L-shaped members can be screwed to 20 the moving members and/or the cord controlling member to enable the fixation rod to be secured to the wall.
Thus the fixation rod is easily located and secured in position such as to prolong the life span of the cord.
