Abstract

A stimulatory device, 1 comprising a handle, 2 a smooth crystal probe and a laser. The probe may be vibrated by an electric motor, 8 mounted in a cavity, 9 in the crystal (quartz, glass or synthetic) or its handle, or in the case of a piezo-electric crystal by a power supply for applying an electric field to it and a control means. The laser, 4 whose beam is directed though the probe may be set within the probe or the handle. The laser/vibrating means are simultaneously activated by closing a switch in the handle, 5 or by twisting the probe relative to the handle to close a switch. The laser and motor may be powered by battery, 7 rechargeable battery or mains. The join between the probe and handle, which may have feet is sealed by an O-ring. The device is for sensual stimulation/body healing.

Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1> STIMULATORY DEVICE The present invention relates to a stimulatory and healing device.
This invention attempts to make use of the dual healing properties of materials such as quartz crystal and therapeutic (non-thermal) lasers. It does so by implementing both such materials and a therapeutic laser device to comprise a stimulatory/vibratory device which is used to heal the body and improve general health.
The invention is based on the recent use in complementary medicine of therapeutic laser therapy to treat conditions of the body. "Laser" is an acronym standing for "light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation". The device used in this application usually produces either infrared or visible red radiation and, unlike the majority of other lasers used in surgery and medicine, is essentially non-thermal, producing no significant heating of tissue as a result of irradiation. Instead, this type of laser can be used as a healing process for conditions such as cervical cancer, amongst many other purposes.
Sexual stimulation depends on the increase of blood flow in the pelvic region, and it has been found that laser irradiation increases the blood flow considerably, since the blood cells play an important role in absorption of visible and invisible wavelengths of light. Therefore, the transmission of this type of laser used in / on the female sexual organs / other bodily parts, through the mediation of a crystal vibrator product (or other such material), has the effect of enhanced healing and physiological effect by increasing sensitivity. This can also lead to heightened sensation.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
The use of the crystal as a potential mediator is based on recent alternative medicine practices, which make use of materials such as quartz and other crystals to heal and improve health conditions. (Such an example is the therapy known as electro-crystal therapy, which balances magnetic fields in the body). According to the present invention there is provided a stimulatory device, comprising a handle and a probe part for stimulation and healing of the body, and a therapeutic laser. The probe can be used either internally or externally for affect.
The probe part may be comprised of a crystal material.
The device may include means to produce a vibration in the crystal. The said means may comprise a power supply operatively connected to a motor and means for controlling the energy of the motor. The motor and power supply may be disposed within the crystal.
The crystal may comprise a piezoelectric crystal, and may include a power supply for applying an electric field to the crystal and means for controlling the energy of the electric field. There may be a common power supply and energising control as between the motor and the crystal.
It is preferred that the crystal comprises quartz, although other healing crystals, solid unleaded glass, synthetic / other materials could be used.
The laser may be incorporated within the base or handle of the device, or set within the crystal itself. It may use a plug-in motor / rechargeable system for operation. Laser strength and time usage could be limited / premonitory.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
The handle may include feet to support the device upon a substrate.
The invention will further be described by way of example only and with reference to the following drawings, in which: Figure I is a side view of a device according to the prior art; Figure 2 is a side view of a device according to the invention; Figure 3 is an end perspective view of the device of Figure 2; and Figure 4 is a cutaway view of a further embodiment of device according to the invention.
Referring to the drawings there is illustrated a stimulatory device 1, comprising a handle 2 and a probe 3 adapted for stimulation of the body's surface / sexual organs. The probe part 3 comprises a mediating crystal, and the handle includes a laser 4.
EXAMPLE 1: Figure 1 is a side view of a device in accordance with the prior art based on the crystal/vibrator concept only. It shows the type of shape the handle and crystal can take. The handle 2 is made from resin and is separable from the crystal such that there are two sections that screw together. The crystal has a hollow central bore (not shown) drilled into its thicker end, into which is placed a motor and power source such as a battery. The crystal is removeably seated on the handle 2, with a seal, such as an "O"-ring to ensure a sanitary join. As will be appreciated the crystal must be sufficiently smooth for safety in use. The
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
switch mechanism is known in the art and is accomplished by manually twisting the two sections. Twisted in two opposing directions simultaneously, the device is triggered to vibrate/switch on via contact of two copper rings fitted to each inner rim at the point of contact.
EXAMPLE 2: Figure 2 is a front view of a device in accordance with this invention, which comprises a laser 4, and probe 3 with crystal and vibratory applications. In this embodiment the laser 4 which is of known type is mounted within the hollow handle 2, such that its transmitted light is directed primarily into the crystal from which it radiates out. It is made from polyurethane rubber, which glows the same colour as the laser and crystal when the laser is energised. The switch in this device is at the base of the stand / handle and is of known twist- type. (Figure 3). It is turned on and off by means of a turning motion, which simultaneously turns on the powered laser system as well. The handle of the device houses a battery and motor system to produce vibration of the crystal, but could easily be adapted to be a plug in / rechargeable system. The motor and power source could also be housed within the crystal probe itself, which could be designed with a hollow central bore drilled into its thicker end.
The crystal is solid (in this example) and seated on the handle 2, with a seal, such as an "O"e-ring to ensure a sanitary join. As will be appreciated the crystal must be sufficiently smooth for safety in use. It can also be set as a removable item into the handle 2.
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
EXAMPLE 3: Referring to Figure 4, a further embodiment is illustrated which shows the internal configuration of a device I according to the invention. Mounted within the handle 2 is a twist-type switch 5 as is known in the art, which connects via contact 6 to battery 7. The switch 5 and battery 6 are connected by suitable means such as wires or copper strips to motor 8 which causes the crystal 3 to vibrate via tip 9 as is known in the art. The laser 4 is also connected to the switch and battery so that energisation of the motor and laser takes place together when the device I is switched on. It will be appreciated that a similar internal configuration could be applied to the embodiment illustrated in Figures 2 and 3.
Based on recent studies of alternative and complementary medical practices related to crystal and therapeutic laser therapies, this device has been invented with the aim to combine sensual stimulation with healing of the body and self- health motivation.
