Abstract

Presentations are displayed to the travelling public, for example, to the occupants of the passenger cabin (2) of a taxi cab. Two screens (10) are located in the cabin to be visible to the occupants. A person travelling in the taxi is shown, by way of the screens, short programmes, information, advertising material and live news. The screens (10) are activated, and a presentation commenced, only when the presence of a passenger within the cabin (2) is detected by two different sensors. Thus, a door sensor is arranged to enable an infrared sensor for a period after the passenger door is closed. If during that period, the infrared sensor detects movement within the cabin, it is identified as the presence of a passenger. A control unit (12) is arranged thereby to power the displays (10) and to start the presentation.
