Abstract
236,654. Marrec, Ltd., and Marrec, Y. April 14, 1924. Drawings to Specification. Multiplex signalling.-Relates to multiplex harmonic systems of telegraphy, and consists in allotting two closely-adjacent frequencies to each channel of communication, one for signals and the other for spaces. By this means, any beat notes arising from interference between the channels are rendered continuous and only slightly variable in pitch, thus interfering to a minimum extent with the reading of the desired signals. None of the frequencies employed should be the same as any of the beat or difference frequencies. Reception is preferably effected by apparatus of the type described in Specification 203,678. sharply selective to the signal frequency. When inaudible frequencies are employed for transmission, they may be received by the heterodyne method. For wireless transmission. the complex signal current is used to modulate one or more carrier waves.
