Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1> GOLF ACCESSORY CARRYING DEVICE Background to this Invention This present invention relates to a golf accessory carrying device, for use during the playing of the game of golf.
Players engaged in the game of golf are permitted, under the rules governing the said game, to carry certain required accessories, such as, a pen or pencil to mark and officially record a score on a golf course score-card, a marker disc which the player places behind the golf ball which has come to rest on the putting green, so as to be able to clean or inspect the golf ball, a pitch repair tool for indents made by the golf ball when landing on the surface of the putting green, golf tees and a time-piece, to ascertain and record starting and playing times.
Referring specifically to golf tees, it is well known that a golf ball can be hit more effectively in play if it is raised slightly from the ground and for this purpose golf tees have long been used by players of the game of golf. Most golf tees in current production are brightly coloured, made from wood or moulded from plastic material. In use, such golf tees are often lifted from the ground together with the golf ball when it is struck by a golf club, but because the golf tees are very light,
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
usually fly no more than a few feet then fall to earth. They can be retrieved on most occasions but, even if they cannot be found, are relatively inexpensive so that their loss seems no great matter, nevertheless this presents a certain degree of irritation and expense to the golfer, however this said, in the modem game of golf more importantly, time is wasted searching, similarly for golf balls.
All or each of the said required accessories, as well as others not here described, when not in use, can be individually or collectively carried upon or contained within, either the players clothing or club carrier.
Object of this Invention The object of this present invention is to provide a golf accessory carrying device, comprising a specific set of required and Royal & Ancient of St Andrews permitted golf accessories including a di-electric, polarising colour contrast enhancing filter, to assist golf tee and golf ball search are contained within or attached to the golf accessory carrying device, therefore maldng the specific set of accessories more convenient and readily available for use by the player during the game of golf
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Summary of This Invention Accordingly, this invention provides a golf accessory carrying device, comprising a sleeve holder containing within, a pitch repair tool, pivoted on a fulcrum pin, having integrated within the said fulcrum pin a hollow centre for provision of a ball marker, attached to one face of the sleeve holder, a view finder with a dielectric, polarising colour contrast enhancing filter and means for the sleeve holder to secure a key-ring, a pen or pencil, storage for tees and a time piece.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS A specific embodiment of this invention will now be more particularly described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:-
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
Figure 1, shows the Golf Accessory Carrying Device, being complete in pictorial view.
Figure 2, illustrates the Golf Accessory Carrying Device being viewed by a player to search for a golf tee or golf ball, a pitch repair tool in use on a putting green golf ball indentation and a combined pitch repair tool with di-electric, polarising colour contrast enhancing filter.
According to Figure 1, there is shown a golf accessory carrying device 21, having provided a sleeve holder 10 being manufactured in metal, plastic, leather or other appropriate material, which as shown by example is relatively square in outline shape, however in another embodiment other suitable shapes and designs would be used. The said sleeve holder 10 provides a protective enclosure for a pitch repair tool I I the pitch repair tool being preferably manufactured in metal but could be in plastic or any other appropriate material. The pitch repair tool 11 being pivotal attached within the sleeve holder 10 by means of a fulcrum pin 12. The fulcrum pin 12 being preferably manufactured in metal or plastic and having a hollow centre (not shown) so as to appropriately integrate a ball marker 17 with stud (not shown). The ball marker 17 being easily removed or replaced into said fulcrum pin 12 hollow centre by means of a finger push or pull fit.
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
On one face of the sleeve holder 10 is provided a view fi-nder13 and a di-electric, polarising colour contrast enhancing filter 14, fixedly attached there by example in a frame with appropriate adhesive. An appropriately shaped and sized hole through both sleeves of the holder 10 admits viewing by a player through the said di-electric, polarising colour contrast enhancing filter 14 of any object, area or scene. It would be deemed obvious the said holder 10 and viewfinder 13 should be held only close to the players eye so as to enable viewing and searching through the di-electric, polarising colour contrast enhancing filter, of the desired area or scene as selected, for by example a lost golf tee or lost golf ball.
Appropriately positioned on one edge side of the sleeve holder 10 will have provision for a clip or saddles 19 to secure a pen or pencil 20. There is positioned at the base centre provision through both sleeves of the holder 10 a hole 18 for a key-ring.
Depicted in the illustration is an integrated time piece 25 attached to one face of the sleeve holder 10 and saddles 23 for golf tees.
Referring now to figure 2, there are shown a chosen variety of pertinent applications for the golf accessory carrying device 21. Figure 2 view 2a illustrates the said device 21 being hand held by the opened pitch repair tool 11 in front and close to the players eye to enable the player to scan the area or scene through the view finder 13 in front of the sleeve holder 10 that has provided the di-electric,
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
polarising colour contrast enhancing filter 14, enabling the player to view and explore the area or scene in which the lost golf tee or golf ball has come to rest. The di-electric, polarising colour contrast enhancing filter 14, when viewed by a player can and will then reject to a negative one or more designated colours as by a single example the green colour of grass. The di-electric, polarising colour contrast enhancing filter 14 will then enhance by contrast other specifically designated colours of the spectrum and therefore greatly assist to fmd the position of the missing golf tee or golf ball, thereby assisting greatly the time spent by the player, players caddie or assisting players search for the lost golf tee or golf ball. Referring now to Figure 2, there are shown a number of applications for the golf accessory carrying device 21. Figure 2 view 2a illustrates the golf accessory carrying device 21 being held in front and close to the eye to enable the player to scan the area or scene in front of the hand held golf accessory carrying device 21 sleeve holder 10 that has provided the di-electric, polarising colour contrast enhancing filter 14. By example, as illustrated, the golf accessory carrying device 21 with a pitch repair tool I I whereby the said tool I I becomes the handle for the said golf accessory carrying device 21 enabling more ease for the player to explore the area or scene in which the golf tee or golf ball has come to rest.
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
Referring to Figure 2, view 2b shows the golf accessory carrying device 21 with the pitch repair tool 11 in ready position for use being so employed to prise upwards a golf ball indentation 15 made in the surface of the putting green 16. It is deemed understood that only a specific area of the putting green is illustrated. Holding the golf accessory carrying device 21 the prongs of the pitch repair tool I I are manually pushed in the said putting green 16 near to the periphery of the indentation of the pitch mark 15. The prongs of the pitch repair tool I I are then gently forced upwards to raise the indented turf, the short distance required to bring it in line and flush with the surrounding turf on the putting green surface 16. Once acceptably level the player removes the said complete pitch repair tool I I from the turf and proceeds to swivel the pitch repair tool I I on its pivotal fulcrum pin 12 so as to reposition the pitch repair tool 11 in its captive protective sleeve holder 10.
Referring to Figure 2, view 2c shows a pitch repair tool 24 providing a di-electric, polarising colour contrast enhancing filter 14 in front elevation view. The preferably manufactured in metal but could be in plastic or any other appropriate material pitch repair tool 11 in manufacture would provide a frame hole, as by example rectangular, however in other embodiments other shapes or design would be considered. The hole provided enabling a push fit for the di-electric, polarising colour contrast enhancing filter 14 and of suitable width so as to provide a clear
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
view which when held at the pronged end of the pitch repair tool 11 by the player, close to the players viewing eye.
It is envisaged that the di-electric, polarising colour contrast enhancing filter 14 would be countersunk and not protruding or even flush so as to avoid surface damage and although not illustrated could have a swivel or slide protection cover, however this said by example a viewfinder 13 on both sides of the sleeve holder 10 is provided.
Shown by example the pitch repair tool 24 has provided also a suitable hole 23 of a size to accommodate a key-iing.
Finally, although not shown in the described drawings, it is declared that the dielectric, polarising colour contrast enhancing filter would be also attached or integrated into other accessories, equipment and packaging.
