Abstract

A swing comprises a pair of A-frames 1, a rope 3, and a cradle 2 having a removable rotatable disc 4 on its upper surface. The rope is fixed to the apex of the first A-frame, threaded through apertures at the edge of the cradle, passed along the underside of the cradle, threaded back up though apertures at the opposing edge of the cradle, and fixed to the apex of the second A-frame, thereby suspending the cradle above the ground. The A-frames may be flexible and the ropes may have an elastic component allowing the cradle to bounce. In use, a user swings the cradle backwards and forwards whilst standing on the rotatable disc, using the bouncing characteristics of the rope and frames and the rotational movement of the rotatable disc to perform tricks and manoeuvres in the manner of e.g. a skateboarder or snowboarder.

Description

2364505 RECREA TIONA L HANDV FREE,Y WI1V G This invention relates to a
Recreational Hands Free Swing The apparatus is comprised of an A-Frame which is secured to the ground like most conventional swings. A Rope is passed through the base of the circular cradle and fixed to the Apex of the A-Frame. Within the circular cradle is a removable rotatable disc, which allows the rider to perform tricks and manoeuvres similar to skateboarding.
This invention allows a person to fide the swing in a standing position (haildvjree) and perform various tricks unlike the conventional swing.
A person standing on the cradle will cause the 2 Apex points(which are slightly angled outwards) to draw inwards and cause the rope to stretch. The flexibility from the A-Frame and the elasticity of the Ropes stores energy. The Recoil allows a person to bounce in a standing position and will assist in balance and movement.
The A-frame is essentially made from metal but other materials may be used the cradle and disc are made from light plastics or wood.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will-now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which.- Eig. I Shows the front view perspective of swing Fig.2 Shows the side view of swing Fig.3) Shows the Rope threaded through the circular cradle Fig.4 Shows the Rope tied through the Apex of the A-ffarne Fig.5 Shows the removable rotatable disc Fig.6 Shows the removable rotatable disc within the circular cradle As shown in Fig. I the swing, comprises of an A-frame I at its apex two tubular holes 5.
In Fig 3 the rope 3) runs through the lower section of the circular cradle 2 and is threaded through the tubular holes 5 thus suspending the circular cradle 2 off the ground see Fig 2. Fig 5 shows the removable rotatable disc 4 and Fig 6 shows the removable rotatable disc 4 placed inside the circular cradle 2.
Both the removable rotatable disc 4 and the circular cradle 2 have low ffiction surfaces. The removable rotatable disc 4 sits in the recess of the circular cradle 2. TNs allows the disc 4 to rotate to vanious degrees. The removable rotatable disc 4 may also be tailored to individuals specifications and is a business opportunity worth further Investigation.

Claims (5)

  1. I A hands-free swing comprises of an A-frame, with one tubular hole in each apex, a rope threaded through one apex, then through two adjacent points in the lower section of the circular cradle and exits at the opposing two points of the circular cradle, is then threaded through and tied off at the adjacent apex point.
  2. 2. A hands-free swing as claimed in Claim I wherein the guide will support the weight of a human being.
  3. 3. A hands-free swing as claimed in Claim I or Claim 2, wherein the guide when swung frorn side to side will support a human being.
  4. 4. A hands-fi-ee swing as claimed in Claim 2 or Claim 3, wherein the guide will rotate 180 degrees when the rider turns his body.
  5. 5. A hands-free swing as claimed in Clairn 3) or Claim 4, wherein the guide, the removable rotatable disc will turn 180 degrees when rider turns his body.
