Abstract

A safety feature for an X-ray film, comprises imprinting a recognisable figure, such as an "R" on, for example the right hand corner of an X-ray film, to inform the persons viewing the film which side of the human body the X-ray film is depicting.

Description

Title of invention: Added Safety Feature to an X-Ray Film
I, Hem Chandra Dutta a British Citizen D O B 159 March 1936 of Permanent address: 42 Chestnut Grove, Southend-on-Sea, Essex S 52 5 HQ, England.
Daytime telephone No ( 01702) 31 56 96: ( 01702) 30 09 61: Fax ( 01702) 30 07 82 being of sound body and mind do hereby on this 16 t day of March year 2000 describe the above mentioned invention i e Added Safety Feature to an X-Ray film as follows:-
The aforesaid invention/improvement is an added safety feature to an XRay film plate which enables the viewer to look at the said film plate in the correct way This becomes particularly important as an X-Ray film plate is a negative and therefore could be looked at from either side.
Since certain parts of the body are identical such as the kidney, mistakes have been made by doctors by looking the X-Ray film of the patient from the wrong side to the extent of surgically removing the good kidney instead of the bad one.
The aim of this aforementioned invention is to prevent such mistakes being made.
The abovementioed "Added Safety Feature to an X-Ray Film" of this aforementioned invention/improvement is to be achieved by adding preferably the letter "R" to the right hand side of the said X-Ray film preferably to the top right hand corner of the X- Ray plate as shown in the drawing annexed hereto.
In different languages and different alphabets the aforesaid invention could be added accordingly to their own language and alphabet.
Such an addition would help the doctor to look at the X-Ray plate from the correct side.
This invention could preferably be added to the X-Ray plate in the process of manufacturing in any desirable and practicable way.
In the attached drawing marked "Drawing 1 " the letter "R" has been added to the top right hand corner of the X-Ray plate.
