Abstract

A tomographic imaging system electrode assembly for insertion into a process fluid. A ceramic sleeve defines an inwardly facing surface on which a plurality of electrodes have been formed by plasma deposition of an electrically conductive material. The electrodes are selectively connected to a first imaging system for producing an image based on an analysis of the capacitance between the electrodes or a second imaging system for producing an image based on an analysis of the electrical resistance between the electrodes. The imaging systems are selectively connected to the electrodes in dependence upon variations in the electrical conductivity of the process fluid.
