Abstract
Exercise apparatus for performing triceps dips comprises a pair of parallel bars between which the user is supported during exercise and legs pivotally mounted to the ends of the parallel bars such that the legs can be folded into a storage position when the apparatus is not in use. The legs are adjustable in length for varying the height of the apparatus, the adjustment being provided by a base portion of each leg being telescopically mounted within the leg. The legs are held securely in the deployed position by support struts fixed between pair of legs. In order to fold the legs into the storage position the support struts and leg base portions are first removed allowing the legs to pivot.
Description
2361877 EXERCISE HORSE This invention relates to an adjustable, fold up
and portable exercise horse for the exercise, 'triceps dips.
According to the present invention there is provided a frame for providing support for a person whilst they are performing the exercise the triceps dip. The frame is rigid when fully assembled has two horizontal supports and the bases of the legs are adjustable for a particular person's height.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: - Fig. 1 shows the exercise horse fully assembled Fig.2 shows in perspective a person using the exercise horse.for triceps dips Fig. 3 shows the adjustable legs Fig. 4 shows the legs fixing to the top frame Fig. 5 shows how the central strut fixes to the leg Fig. 6 shows the exercise horse folded up 2- CLAIMS
1. An exercise horse for use within a weight training regime solely for exercising the Triceps muscle, (triceps dips). The frame being rigid when fully assembled, supporting the person performing the triceps dips and extra weight attachments.
2. An exercise horse as claimed in Claim I wherein the legs of the horse are adjustable at the base for variance of height of the person using it.
Claims (7)
- 3. An exercise horse as claimed in Claim I and 2 wherein if you take theadjustable legs out, undo the left hand side bolt from fig.4, take out the central support, it should then fold up.4. An exercise horse as claimed in Claiml, 2 and 3 wherein the base of the legs have a rubber comer unit for grip.5. An exercise horse substantially as described herem with reference to figures 1-3 of the accompanApg drawings.6. To allow the legs to fold up as in fig. 6, the length of the bracket, fig. 4 should be longer on the right side of the horse by the thickness of the legs, more than the left-hand side.Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows 1. An exercise apparatus for performing triceps dips, comprising a pair of parallel bars between which the user is supported during exercise and a leg pivotally mounted at substantially each end of the parallel bars, such that the legs can be folded into a storage position, when the apparatus is not in use.
- 2. An exercise apparatus as claimed in claim I, wherein the legs are adjustable in length for varying the height of the apparatus, the adjustment being provided by a base portion of the leg being telescopically mounted within each leg and bolted in position.
- 3. An exercise apparatus as claimed in claim 2, wherein a support strut is fixed between the legs mounted on each respective parallel bar, by bolts.
- 4. An exercise apparatus as claimed in claim 3, wherein the legs are foldable into the storage position after removal of the base portion of the legs, removal of the support struts and the removal of various bolts.
- 5. An exercise apparatus as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the bases of the legs include a rubber foot for grip.
- 6. An exercise apparatus as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the legs are.attached to the parallel bar by brackets, the brackets on the legs on one side of the apparatus being longer than the brackets on the legs on the other side of the apparatus by substantially the thickness of the legs, thus allowing the legs with the longer brackets to overlap the other legs when in the folded storage position.
- 7. An exercise apparatus substantially as described herein with reference to figures 1-6 of the accompanying drawings.
