Abstract

A decorative light bulb frame comprises a plurality of unit frame bodies 1 of the same construction and an upper and a lower coupling element 2. Each unit frame body is provided at two ends with a ball-shaped element 11 that is pivotally fit into the round holes 21 of a coupling element. Each unit frame body is further provided on the body with engaging holes 12 and openings 13 to accommodate decorative light bulb sets to form a decorative spherical light bulb frame.

Description

2361296 TITLE: SPATIAL DECORATIVE LIGHT BULB FRAME
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
A combination of miniature light bulb strings with a decorative frame to achieve a special visual effect is known in the US patent 5643343. The patent uses several semicircular unit frame bodies locked on a central shaft to form a spherical decorative frame and then adds light bulb sets to the frame so that the frame would shine to achieve a desired decorative effect when these light bulbs are switched on. Due to fixed joints of the unit frame bodies with the central shaft, the design has the disadvantages of inflexibility in shape, and inconvenience in storage and transportation due to the large space it takes, as well as being trouble in manufacturing and assembly due to interlocking between structural elements. Thus it is desirable to have some improvements made on such a prior art structure.
In view of above problems, the primary object of the invention is to provide a spatial decorative light bulb frame in which the drawbacks of a prior art design have been removed and that can achieve a quick and economical effect in manufacturing, assembly, storage and transportation. The invention can effectively promote the practical value of a decorative light bulb frame. Now the features and further advantages of the invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACCOWANYING DRAWINGS
Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view partially showing a decorative light bulb frame according to the invention. 1 Figure 2 is a partial cross sectional view indicating the decorative light bulb frame of figure 1 in an assembled state.
Figure 3 is a plan assembly drawing showing the decorative light bulb frame of the invention.
Figure 4 is a top plan view showing an application example of the decorative light bulb frame according to the invention.
Figure 5 is a plan view showing the decorative light bulb frame of figure 4 in a closed state.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED ENMODINIENTS
Referring to figures 1 through 4, the decorative light bulb frame according to the invention comprises a plurality of semicircular unit frame bodies (1) of the same structure. Provided on the upper and the lower end of each unit frame body (1) is a ball-shaped element (11).
There are a plurality of engaging holes (12) and openings (13) formed on each unit frame body (1). The two coupImig elements (2) have round holes (21) formed on the side surface to receive the ball-shaped elements (11) of the unit frame body (1) to form a pivotal connection therebetween. The upper and the lower ball-shaped elements of the unit frame body (1) are respectively seated in the round holes of the upper and the lower coupling elements. Then light bulb sets (3) are attached to the unit frame body (1) at engaging holes (12), with the light bulbs received in openings (13). In this way a decorative light bulb frame is completed in this way.
From the above description, evidently a spherical light bulb frame of this invention can be constructed with ease. It is more quick and 2 convenient m assemblage and has a more stable structure in comparison with a prior art one. Furthermore, due to swiveling connections between a unit frame body (1) and a coupling element (2) each unit frame body (1) can be adjusted in orientation relative to each other. It is an advance in functionality. As shown in figure 5, the unit frame bodies (1) can be closed to each other and placed on two sides'. As a result the space it takes is decreased. This considerably reduces the volume needed for storage and transportation and thus has a practical value in industry.
Although the invention is elucidated with reference to an 10 embodiment consisting of six unit frame bodies, it will be apparent to all that the invention is not limited to the described and shown embodiment. Many variations are possible to the skilled person within the scope of the invention. The number of the unit frame bodies in a frame can be decreased or increased as needed. The main spirit of the invention is the swiveling joints in combination with a novel stable construction,, by means of which a spherical decorative light bulb frame is achieved with an arbitrarily adjustable orientation.
