Abstract

A lotion applicator particularly for applying or removing a lotion from a hard to reach area of a persons anatomy comprises a handle A and an applicator pad B. The applicator may be re-usable with the applicator pad being replaced by a fresh pad made from lint, gauze or sponge, or the whole applicator may be disposable. The handle may be constructed from either wood or plastic and may have a flexible coil D to allow for directional angling of the applicator pad. The handle may be hollow so as to allow for storage of the lotion and its application on to the applicator pad.

Description
This invention relates to an applicator designed to apply or remove medication/lotion/cream/sunscreen etc. to parts of the anatomy which are not always easy to reach. This would enable a person to apply these lotions without relying on another person. For example, to apply medication to the legs in the case of the elderly/infirm for treating varicose ulcers. To apply sunscreen/moisturiser to the back.
The lotion applicator would be marketed in various sizes from 25cm to 45cm long x 21/2cm wide and consist of a flat or circular handle with a 21/2cm pad of lint/gauze/sponge at one end. It would be either disposable or re-usable depending on the required usage and the properties used in manufacture, i.e. the disposable version would be thrown away completely (in its entirety). The re-usable version would have a disposable pad of lint/gauze/sponge which could be replaced. It may have a flexible coil in the plastic version to allow for directional angling of the head for more precise contact with the skin. The handle could also be hollow to allow the lotion to reach the head of the applicator without the need for continually recharging the head with lotion.

shows a more detailed version in that the handle would have a flexible coil moulded in to allow for directional angling of the applicator head. The plastic handle could be hollow with either a stopper at the end or a balloon end to allow lotion to be pushed towards the applicator head, thus allowing a greater amount of lotion/medication to reach the applicator head.

  1. CLAIM
    An applicator for use by an individual to apply (or remove) lotion/medication/cream/sunscreen to parts of the anatomy not easily reached, thus negating the need for another person to assist in the application of such lotions.
