Abstract

In a CDMA communication apparatus, two receiving circuits 2-1, 2-2 demodulate signals received by respective antennas 1-1, 1-2 and output reception signals. Two delay profile circuits 3-1, 3-2 associated with the receiving circuits shift the phases of the reception signals from the receiving circuits every predetermined interval, and correlate the reception signals with respect to known data to thereby output correlation value data. A searcher circuit 4 retrieves peaks from at least two correlation value data derived from the delay profile circuit and compares them. The power supply to at least one of the receiving circuits is then disconnected by switches 7-1, 7-2 and the oscillation frequency of a clock in the communication apparatus is reduced based on this comparison.
