Abstract

An air freshener consisting of a Main Section (1), which holds two Fragrance Boards (2) with a foil seal containing a Tear Strip (3) for each Fragrance Board. The Main Section (1) and the Neck Section (4) sit inside the vehicles air duct whilst the T Section (5) and Loop Section (6) remain on the surface of the vehicles' air vent housing. The air freshener can be inserted or removed by use of the Loop Section (6) so that the second Fragrance Board can be activated by exposure, at ease. The T Section (5) stops the air freshener falling into the air duct of the vehicle. The Main Section and Neck Section are hidden from view during normal use and the fragrance is controlled by airflow and air temperature. Sections 1,4,5,6 may be formed as a single component of plastic material.

Description

2357974 UNIVERSAL VEHICLE AIR FRESHNER This invention relates to a vehicle
air fteshener, which can be inserted into one air vent inside a vehicle.
Vehicle air fresheners are well known and widely used objects, which are used to fragrance the air inside a vehicle. They come in many forms and fragrances but all are external to the air vent and none are controlled by the direct operation of the vehicles air system, controlling airflow and temperature. The air freshener when installed is hidden from view and is controllable to temperature and airflow.
According to the present invention there is provided a universal vehicle air freshener comprising a moulded plastic body holding a ftagrance board to the top and bottom of the Main Section. The Fragrance Boards can be exposed to the air by means of a Tear Strip as and when required. From the Main Section extends a Neck Section of thin plastic to a Universal T Section designed to stop the object falling into the vehicles air vent when presented. The Main Section and Neck Section sit hidden from view and do not interfere with the normal operation of the air vent.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to accompanying drawings in which: - Figure A. Illustrates the Main Section (1), the Fragrance Boards (2), the Bottom Tear Strip (3), the Neck Section (4), the T Section (5) and Retractor Loop Section (6) shown as separate parts.
Figure B. Illustrates the Main Section (1), the Fragrance Boards (2) and Bottom Tear Strip (3), the top Tear Strip having been removed to expose the Fragrance Board.
Figure C Illustrates the Main Section (1), the Fragrance Boards (2), the Bottom Tear Strip (3), the Neck Section (4), the T Section (5) and Retractor Loop Section (6) as a complete unit.
Figure D. Illustrates in cross section, the Main Section (1), the Fragrance Boards (2), the Bottom Tear Strip (3), the Neck Section (4), the T Section (5) and Retractor Loop Section (6) as a complete unit as it sits in the air vent of the vehicle.
Referring to the drawing Figure A, the air freshener comprises a moulded plastic Main Section (1), Neck Section (4), T Section (5) and Loop Section (6) all being of one piece of plastic. The Main Section (1) also houses two Fragrance Boards (2), which are attached to the Main Section (1). Each Fragrance Board (2) is sealed with foil containing a Tear Strip which can be tom off to expose the Fragrance Board (2). This is illustrated in Figure B. In order for the air freshener to be used, the user must first tear one of the Tear Strips (3) as shown in Figure B. Then insert the air freshener into the air vent of the vehicle, as shown in Figure D. The Neck Section (4) and Main Section (1) remain inside the air vent of the vehicle. The T Section (5) and Loop Section (6) sit on the surface of the air vent housing, as shown in Figu, t 4. The air freshener can be removed by grasping the Loop section (6) and removing the whole unit from the air vent, thus the second Tear 'Strip caii be remoied with ease when required.
