Abstract

A re-usable packaging box made of board material utilises hook and loop or similar fasteners instead of permanent adhesive or other fixing, to enable the box to be collapsed and re-erected for further use. The board material is cut and creased to facilitate forming into a simple box shape.

Description

2355254 RE-USABL.E PACKAGING BOX This invention relates to a re-usable
packaging box Most packaging boxes made of bbard material use adhesive or other fixings to permanently fix together the relevant parts of the board material to form the box shape.
Packaging is expensive and consumes valuable natural resources. Reducing consumption by re-using packaging car, dramatically reduce costs: energIT used to recycle can be reduced; amounts going to landfill can be reduced. Re-using a box once would reduce material costs by 50; subsequent re-use would reduce these costs further.
According to the present invention there is provided a box which can be col-lapsed. flat, to save space -and facilitate delivery to a supplier of goods, where it can be re-erected into a box form to be re-used to carry goods.
Instead of using permanent adhesive or other fixing to retain the box shape securely, the present invention utilises a suitable type of hook and loop fastener or similar, the different parts of which are fixed permanently to the appropriate parts of the b)'Oard material of which the box is made. Pulling apart the hook and loopi or similar, fastener, enables the box to be collapsed and packed flat. The box can be reerected securely when required, to hold goods.
The board material is cut and creased as required to facilitate form-ing into a simple box shape.
