Abstract

A frame 1 for displaying compact disks or DVDs comprises a sealed backing board 4 provided with bendable plastics disk supports 2. The board is covered by a card mount 5 having circular cutouts 3 in which the disks can be inserted. Each support can be deep enough to store more than one disk.

Description

2354707 FRAMED STORAGE/DISPLAY FOR COMPACT DISCS OR DVDs This invention
relates to a framed compact disc or DVD display.
Frames are a well known format for displaying paintings and photographs which are usually also protected by a sealed backing board and a sheet of glass covering the front, keeping the painting or photograph clean and untouchable, but still visible.
This means that once you have framed a picture or photograph it would take a great deal of trouble to change the frame, picture, or photograph.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:
Figure 1 shows a front view of the frame.
Figure 2 shows a front view of the sheet of card with circular mounts cut out.
Figure 3 shows a front view of the backing board with the small, circular, protruding, bendable plastic spokes attached.
Figure 4 shows a front view of the frame, backing board, sheet of card and plastic spokes together in their final form.
Figure 5 shows a front view of a different design shape in its completed form. This indicates that the original design is not Q restricted to a set number of circular mounts within a particular frame. It is also not restricted to a certain layout but can vary according to a person's particular taste.
According to the present invention there is provided a frame for holding a plurality of Media Storage discs, such as compact discs, DVDs or the like. Referring to the drawings, there is a standard frame 1, with a sealed backing board 4. Instead of a picture between the sealed backing board and frame, there is another sheet of card 5, which covers the interior dimensions of the fi-ame. This sheet of card is about twice the thickness of the compact disc or DVD. There is no glass on the front.
According to the size of the particular frame, a number of circular mounts 3,, the size of compact discs or DVI)s are cut out of the sheet of card. These circular mounts are spaced out evenly over the sheet of card, leaving a border between the frame and circular mounts. Secured to the backing board and positioned in the centre of the circular mounts, are small, circular, protruding, bendable plastic spokes 2, similar to the circular plastic attachments that secure a compact disc to the inside of a compact disc case and that allows the compact disc to be taken out and replaced. Unlike the attachments in compact disc cases, these plastic spokes can be of varying depths depending on how many compact discs or DVI)s are to be stored/displayed on an individual plastic spoke.

Claims (6)

1) A device for storing and or displaying compact or digital video media storage discs, comprising of a support sheet having mounted thereon at least I protruding, bendable plastic spoke, each said plastic spoke being capable of supporting one or more discs.
2) A device as c laimed in claim I wherein each protruding, bendable plastic spoke is capable of supporting a plurality of discs.
3) A device as claimed in claim 1 wherein said support sheet has a plurality of protruding, bendable plastic spokes mounted thereon.
4) A device as claimed in any preceding claim wherein said support sheet is mounted in a frame.
5) A device as claimed in any preceding claim wherein a sheet of material having circular cut-outs is mounted in front of said support sheet.
6) A device as claimed in any preceding claim wherein said media storage discs comprising of compact discs or DVDs 7) A device as claimed in any preceding claim wherein for storing and/or displaying media storage discs substantially as described herein with reference to the accompanying drawings.
