Abstract

A letter-card has a front side (fig 1) and a rear side (fig 2). The front side, which will be the greetings card, has an area 2 for a verse, message, statement, picture, invitation, age number, greeting or drawing and an area 3 for the sender to write a message. The rear side, which will be the outside of the envelope, has an image of a stamp 4, a space for an address 5 and an illustration 6 to mimic the back of an envelope. The inclusion of a fold 1 allows the card to be bent in both directions. The provision of adhesive 8 around the edge of the front of the card allows it to be sealed by the sender as an envelope. To open the envelope the receiver can tear perforations 7 to remove the edges and open the card out at fold 1 to display a greeting etc (fig 4).

Description

2354199 COMBINED CARD AND ENVELOPE This invention relates to a combined
greetings card and envelope.
Greetings cards are always supplied with an envelope providing packaging for the card, privacy and a means of securing the card and other contents through the postal service or hand delivery According to the present invention there is provided a combined greetings card and envelope. It is a single sheet of card where one side shows a verse/message/statement/picture/invite/age number/greeting/drawing with an area to write a message and on the reverse side is a hand drawn stamp and a blank space for a name and/or address. The reverse of the card has been illustrated to imitate an envelope.
The invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Figure I shows one side of the card, the inside. It is divided into two halves with a fold along the middle 1. One half provides differing verses/messages/statements/pictures/invites/age numbers/greetings/drawings 2. The other half of the inside provides prompts for the sender to write their own message 3.
Figure 2 shows the reverse of the card, the outside, which is an illustrated imitation envelope. It is also divided into two halves. One half has a hand drawn stamp for decoration 4 and a blank space for the sender to write the recipient's name and/or address 5. The other half of the outside is an image of the rear of an envelope 6.
Referring to the drawing Fig I and 2, close to the four edges of the card are perforations 7.
Referring to the drawing Fig 1, on the inside of the card, in-between the perforations and the edges, is adhesive 8. Instructions are written on the adhesive for it to be moistened 9. The card is then folded along the crease I and sealed.
D. Figure 3 shows the card sealed with the appearance of an envelope and an area for a stamp and recipients name and/or address. The perforations are visible along 3 edges 7, which are then torn off by the recipient.
Figure 4 shows the card with the perforations torn off, turned inside out and displaying the verse/message/statement/picture/invite/age number/greeting/drawing.

Claims (1)

1 A combined greetings card and envelope, comprising of a single sheet of card, where one side shows a verse/message/statement/picture/invite/age number/greeting/drawing with an area to write a message and on the reverse side is a hand drawn stamp and a blank space for a name and/or address. The reverse of the card has been illustrated to imitate an envelope. 2 A combined greetings card and envelope as claimed in Claim 1, a fold allowing the card to be bent in both directions a number of times, is positioned along the centre of the card. 3 A combined greetings card and envelope as claimed in Claims I and 2, close to the four edges on the inside of the card is adhesive/gum, enabling the card to be sealed when folded. 4 A combined greetings card and envelope as claimed in Claim I and 3, at the edge of the adhesive/gum are perforations, enabling the card/envelope to be torn open, along three of the edges. 5 A combined greetings card and envelope as claimed in Claim 3, the card provides security and privacy when sent through the postal service or hand delivered. 6 A combined greetings card and envelope as claimed M' Claim 4, the card provides a novelty factor when opening along the perforations. 7 A combined greetings card and envelope as claimed in Claim 1, 2 3 and 4, the card eliminates the need for an envelope, saving paper. 8 A combined greetings card and envelope substantially as described herein with reference to Figs 14 of the accompanying drawings.
