Abstract
The Angled Wet Shaver has two blade compartments (a) and (b) containing one or more blades attached to one end of handle (c) and facing opposite each other. Blade compartment (a), which may be either fixed or pivoted, is used to produce the initial downward shave. The other blade compartment (b) which may be permanently fixed or can be adjusted to two different positions, can be used to produce an upward shave, allowing the handle (c) to be held in two comfortable positions. A further embodiment of the Wet Angled Shaver has one blade compartment (a) containing one or more blades attached to the handle (c) by a suitably flexible material (f)(figure 5). The blade compartment may be adjusted to the required angle to produce an initial downward shave and then flexed back to the required angle such that the handle (c) may be held at a comfortable position for an upward shave.
Description
2353964 The angled wet shaver page I There are a number of facial wet
shavers on the market of various shapes and designs, consisting mainly of a single compartment containing the blade(s) attached to a handle and angled in such a position such that the facial hair is cut by a downward motion,in the direction of hair growth, To produce an effective close shave, a final upward stroke, against the direction of hair growth, is required Yor this to be achieved with a conventional facial wet shaver, the shaver needs to be rotated through 180 degrees and held upside down with the handle and blade compartment facing upwards at an awkward angle.
According to the invention, there are two blade compartments containing the cutting blades attached to the same handle. One compartment is attached to the handle in either a fixed or pivoted position and at an angle to produce a downward cutting motion. The other blade compartment, which may be fixed in two variable positions to the same handle, is facing in the opposite direction and at an angle to produce an upward cutting motion, against the direction of hair growth- This allows the handle to be held in a comfortable position without the need for the shaver to be rotated when the upward shave is performed.
A specific example of the invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Figure I shows the wet shaver with the blade compartment (a) in contact with the facial surface (s) and compartment (b) in its lower-most fixed position facing in the opposite direction to the blade compartment (a). In this position the shaver is in the Downward Position.
Figure 2 shows the wet shaver with the blade compartment (b) in its uppermost fixed position and in contact with the facial surface (s). In this position the shaver is in the Acute Angle Position.
Figure 3 shows the wet shaver with its compartment (b) in contact with the facial surface (s) in the lower-most position. In this position the shaver is in the Right Angled position.
Figure 4 shows an embodiment of the wet shaver where the blade compartment (a) is fixed to the handle (c) and blade compartment (b) is also fixed to the same handle (c) in the lower-most position and facing in the opposite direction.
Page 2 Figure (5) shows an embodiment of the wet shaver where there is only one blade compartment (a).This is fixed to the handle (c) by a suitably flexible material (f) and angled such that a downward shave may be performed.
Figure (6) shows the same embodiment of the wet shaver, but where compartment (a) is flexed and angled for Right Angled upward shave.
Figure (7) shows the same embodiment of the wet shaver where the compartment (a) is flexed back such that the Acute Angle upward shave position is obtained.
Figure (8) shows the front view of the wet shaver, showing both compartments (a) and (b) facing in the opposite direction.
Referring to the drawing in Figure (1) the blade compartment (a), which contains one or more cutting blades, is attached to the handle(c) in either a fixed or pivoted position and angled such that it is in the Downward Position so that a downward cutting motion can be performed. The second blade compartment (b) is attached to the same handle (c) Figure (1) facing in the opposite direction to compartment (a) and pivoted so that it can be adjusted, by suitable means, to two fixed positions, upper- most Figure (2) and lower-most Figure (3).
After the initial downward shave the handle (c) may be rotated from the Downward Position Figure (1) to the Acute Angle Position Figure (2), so that the blade compartment (b) is now in contact with the facial surface (s) in its upper-most fixed position. Using short upward strokes, the shorter stubble may be cut more effectively. By adjusting the blade compartment (b) to its lowermost position Figure (3) the shaver can be held in the Right Angle Position, where short upward strokes may be performed, with the handle (c) held at right angles to the facial surface (s).
Figure (4) shows an embodiment of the wet shaver where the both blade compartments (a) and (b) are attached in a fixed position to the handle (c) and facing in the opposite direction to one another, so that the shaver may be used in two hand held positions, the Downward position Figure (1) and the Right Angled position Figure (3).
Another embodiment of the wet shaver as shown in Figure (5) where there is only one blade compartment (a).This is fixed to the handle (c) by a suitably flexible material (f), which can be adjusted in the direction, as shown by the Page 3 arrow (x), to be used initially in the Downward position. The blade compartment (a) may then be flexed back in the direction of the arrow (y) so that when the shaver is rotated through 180 degrees along the axis running through the handle (c) Figure (5), the shaver may be used either in the Right Angle position Figure (6) or the Acute Angle position Figure (7) for the upward shave.
