Abstract

The Interactive Advertising Toy is essentially an invention that can help business/ industry target potential customers immediately and with lasting impact. It can target thousands of people personally and because it incorporates audience participation as well as being an item that can be kept as a keepsake it really is useful for any business that would like to receive maximum exposure at big events like the 'French World Cup 1998.' The toy comprises shaped cardboard, which may be laminated, or it could be a fan. The smaller companies who wish to expand can finally get into markets that had previously been difficult to penetrate effectively due to high advertising costs.

Description

2352863 Interactive Advertising Toy (medium) The Interactive Advertising
Toy (medium) can be made with shaped cardboard which can be laminated or with a tougher material like Plastic. See figures A -D attached. It is 2 dimensional and can be shaped in to a Rugby ball for example. The handle can be made with a thin spatula shaped piece of wood or plastic. As in figure D.
These items can be printed in vibrant colours that will catch the eye if required, or with a combination of colours and materials.
Advertising Centerpiece It can be used by businesses or industry (building company) to reach the public in a permanent way. For example, one of the items could have 'What a Conversion!' written on it. A loft conversion company could immediately use this to exploit the benefits of reaching a mass audience, who are mainly male, at a single sporting event. They would also receive mass media exposure. It is simple and very effective. Most of all it would be very inexpensive and generate a huge return in terms of exposure. It can be kept for years. This is a new way of effective advertising! It can be produced with a fixed handle 2 or a sliding or rotating handle. On the rotating handle a circular hinge 4 or pin is fixed around which the handle rotates. The sliding handle slides in and out of a cavity. The cavity is fixed to the body I of the invention. An advert can be set on the face of the invention.
The idea came from watching Cricket. I saw people holding out cards with the numbers '4' and V. Whenever a batsman hit one of these scores they would hold up the corresponding card. It was the interaction between the crowd and the sports person initially that made me realise a potential for making an invention. Later I developed the idea to include any event where crowd participation is possible.
Commemorative aspect With so many events nowadays, lots of people like to have keepsakes of the event, show. These items can be produced to commemorate these special occasions (For example it could feature the inscription 'French World cup 1998' or the Notting Hill Carnival 1999). The advertiser would be more assured that these inventions would be taken home where more people would see it! Interactive toy As explained above this new invention is developed to add an interactive element for the individual to enjoy while watching his favourite sport, show etc. For example in rugby the people in the crowd who have this invention can show their support of the event by displaying the inscription 3, ' What a Conversion!' Similarly the toy could have ' I am a Wigan Fan' printed on it while fanning themselves.
It can be designed with the particular event in mind. For example, at a music festival it could be in the shape of a singer's face or in the shape of a Rugby ball or Football.
At the same time as giving enjoyment to the public I expanded the idea to embrace the potential for the businessperson to use this invention for their commercial use. Producing this has used the idea that the supporter of a particular team or event can show his Support. At the same time the businessperson can use this as an advertising medium to promote his or her product or service cheaply and effectively.
Usincl, the illustrations my idea has a simple design that can be reflected for a -I Cl particular event, show or occasion.
It has essentially has a two dimensional body I with a handle 2, These can be modified but still keeping these two essential features. On the face of the invention 5 is the loao or advert from the business user.
