Abstract

A device with a profiled end 1 which allows scratchcards to be effectively scratched. The device may be attached to a key ring.

Description

1 2352421 SCRATCHER Technical Fiel This invention relates to a device for
removing the removable layer ftom scratch cards.
Backgmund Scratch cards are widely available and used for competitions and gambling, most notably for the national lottery.
To play a scratchcard, a film applied to the front of the card must be removed. This is generally done using a coin or fingernail.
Essential Technical Features The scratcher comprises a plastic or metal unit, which can be attatched to a keyring if required, and can also carry a motif or logo. The active end of the scratcher is profiled to give optimum removal of the film without damaging the underlying card substrate.
A typical outline will be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying diagram in which:
Figure I shows the scratcher in plan form, with an example of a transfer illustrated Figure 2 shows the scratcher in longditudinal section, indicating the angle of the active tip.
Detailed Descriptio
The scratcher is made from stainless steel, HDPE or other suitable materials.
There is a hole (2) drilled to allow attatchment to a key ring.
There may be a transfer or other illustrafion mounted on the main face of the unit (3) The tip is profiled to allow for ease of scratching.
The size of the device will be ideal for carrying round in a pocket and for ease of use.
2 CLAMIS 1. A device for scratchcard film removal. 2. A device as claimed in claim I which can be carried on a key ring 3. A device as claimed in claim I or claim 2, with an additional good luck or personalised logo attached.
4. A device as claimed in claim 1, with the specific design intent to be used for national lottery scratchcards.
