Abstract

A magnetic holding device comprises a permanent magnet fixed within a casing which is attached to an adjustable strap suitable for securing the magnet to a person's wrist. The casing may include two elongate holes, one on either side of the casing, for attaching the adjustable wrist strap. The strap may use a pin and hole or Velcro (RTM) fastening. The permanent magnet may be made of Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) or isotropic Ferrite, the casing of steel or plastic and the strap of cotton or leather.

Description

2350934 Magnetic Fixings Holder This invention relates to a magnetic
fixings holder with a strap so that it can be worn like a wrist watch.
When metalic fixings ie nails, screws and nuts etc. are used in the work place they are usually held in a bag or box. However this is not always convenient:a. One has the problem of removing sharp pins/ screws without pricking your fingers b. If the fixings are required for use whilst the person is stood off the floor ie on steps or more often in the home on a chair, to allow free movement of both hands people often place the fixings in their mouth which for obvious reasons is dangerous.
This invention is to provide a tool for collecting and securely holding metalic fixings at the place of work.
2 Magnetic Fixings Holder Specification
The invention consists of a permanent magnet fixed within a body which has two elongated holes at opposite ends to allow the fixing of an adjustable strap. The strap has velcro or hole and pin fastenings at the ends to allow adjustment.
The permanent magnet can be either Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) or Isotropic Ferrite, fixed to a metal base with either a steel or plastic casing and slots or ferrules to allow the fixing of a strap. The strap can be made from cotton/leather or many other man made materials with either velcro applied or with holes and a pin for adjustment like a normal watch strap.

FIGURE 4. shows a section through the holder, and method of fixing the strap.
As shown in figure 4 the magnet is held within a casing that itself is attached to the strap.

Claims (2)

  1. Magnetic Fixings Holder I The magnetic fixings holder comprises of a permanent magnet fixed within a casing, with an adjustable strap attached enabling it to be worn on the wrist.
  2. 2 A magnetic fixings holder as in claim 1 the strap is adjustable like a watch strap with either velcro or a pin and holes.
