Abstract

A composition comprising a non-woven material and a cyclic thiohydroxamic acid of formula (1), including salts and metal complexes thereof wherein R is hydrogen, optionally substituted C<SB>1-6</SB>-hydrocarbyl, -COOR<SP>2</SP> or -OCOR<SP>2</SP>; A and B are each, independently, -C(R<SP>1</SP>)<SB>2</SB>-, -CR<SP>1</SP>=, (a) or -N=; D is -C(R<SP>1</SP>)<SB>2</SB>-, -CR<SP>1</SP>=, (b) or sulphur; R<SP>1</SP> is hydrogen, optionally substituted C<SB>1-6</SB>-hydrocarbyl or two groups R<SP>1</SP>, together with the carbon atom or atoms to which they are attached, form a 5- or 6-membered ring and R<SP>2</SP> is optionally substituted C<SB>1-6</SB>-hydrocarbyl. It is preferred that the compound of formula (1) is 2:1 zinc complex of 3-hydroxy-4-methylthiazol-2(3H)-thione.
