Cut-out arrangements.- Relates to a protective system, as described in the parent Specification, in which polyphase circuits are protected by means of selective time-lag relays having their current coils energized by the respective phases, and voltage coils energized through a twoway switch in each phase by the phase voltage in the event of leakage to earth and by the line voltage in the event of leakage between phases. According to the invention, the two-way switches are replaced by a single two position switch c with multiple contacts d, e, its operating winding being connected in the known asymmetric connection, in a circuit energized by current transformers a in each phase so that, when no earth fault exists, the winding is not energized and the switch takes up the position shown in which the voltage coils of the relays are connected to the line voltages, whereas in the event of an earth fault, the switch is automatically moved over to the contacts e where the voltage coils are connected to the voltage between phases.
