Abstract

A holder 1 for use in the securing of fixings into a work surface comprises a body which includes fixing locating areas 2 along its periphery. The fixing used may be a nail, pin, tack, rivet, bolt, hasp, or hook. The holder may have curves or comers along its perimeter which allow for awkward fixing positioning. Preferably the device may be able to hold more than one fixing, and may have a number of different sized and shaped locating areas to allow for different fixings.

Description

FIXINGS HOLDER THIS INVENTION RELATES TO A TOOL USED TO RETAIN FIXINGS IN PLACE, THAT WOULD OTHERWISE BE TOO INCONVENIENT TO BE HELD SUCCESSFULLY BETWEEN FINGERS OR IN THE HAND WHEN SECURING FIXINGS INTO A SURFACE, FINGERS OR HANDS MAY BE UNABLE TO HOLD FIXINGS SUCCESSFULLY. THIS MAY RESULT IN THE FIXINGS BEING DROPPED OR BADLY LOCATED IN THEIR DESIGNATED SURFACE. ADDITIONAL INJURY MAY ALSO OCCUR TO HANDS OR FINGERS FROM THE TOOLS THAT SECURE THE FTXING.
TRADITIONALLY THIS PROBLEM IS OVERCOME BY PUSHING A FIXING PARTIALLY THROUGH A PIECE OF CARD. A TOOL IS APPLIED TO THE HEAD OF THE FIXING THUS LOCATING IT FIRMLY INTO POSITION AND THE CARD IS RIPPED AWAY BEFORE THE FIXING IS SECURED HOME AN EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION WILL NOW BE DESCRIBED BY WAY OF EXAMPLE ONLY, WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS IN WHICH- FIGURE I--A FUCING IS INSERTED INTO A LOCATING AREA (2) IN THE HOLDER (1), WHERE IT IS HELD FIRMLY FIGURE 2 :- THE HOLDER (1) IS PLACED SUITABLY NEAR A SURFACE AND A TOOL IS APPLIED TO THE HEAD OF THE FIXING, THUS LOCATING IT INTO THE SURFACE FIGURE 3 :- THE HOLDER (1) IS PULLED AWAY FROM THE FIXING, AND THE FADING IS SECURED HOME.
THE HOLDER (1) IS TYPICALLY HELD BETWEEN THE FINGERS AND IS IDEALLY MADE FROM A MATERIAL THAT WILL ALLOW FDONGS TO BE INSERTED AND WITHDRAWN WITH MINIMAL EFFORT, BUT RIGID ENOUGH TO ALLOW FIXINGS TO BE FIRMLY Y LOCATED IN THE HOLDER (1) THE PERIMETER OF THE HOLDER MAY INCORPORATE CURVES OR CORNER (S) TO ALLOW FOR AWKWARD FWNG POSITIONING THE HOLDER (1) WILL BE ABLE TO HOLD MORE THAN ONE FIX1NG AS IT WILL HAVE A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT SIZED AND SHAPED LOCATING AREAS (2) TO CATER FOR DIFFERING FIXINGS N B-A FIXING TYPICALLY CAN BE A NAIL, PIN, TACK, RIVET, BOLT, HASP, HOOK, OR SIMILAR.

CLAIMS FOR PATENT APPLICATION NUMBER 9900138.0 (INITIAL REGISTRATION DATE 06-01-99) 1.-A DEVICE FOR AIDING WITH THE SECURING OF FIXINGS INTO A WORK SURFACE, COMPRISING OF RESILIENT BODY SAID RESILIENT BODY TO INCLUDE ALONG ITS PERIPHERY'FIXING LOCATING AREAS' SAID RESILIENT BODY MAY BE USED TO CARRY OR DISPLAY INFORMATION
  2. 2.-SAID DEVICE CAN BE, HAND HELD OR WITH DIGITS SAID DEVICE IS IDEALLY MADE FROM A FLEXIBLE MATERIAL 3-'FIXING LOCATING AREAS'BY VIRTUE OF THEIR DESIGN TO BE ABLE TO ALLOW FIXINGS TO BE INSERTED AND WITHDRAWN WITH MINIMAL EFFORT, BUT RIGID ENOUGH TO ALLOW FADINGS TO BE FIRMLY LOCATED IN THE HOLDER.
