Abstract

The device is a boot rack designed to store Wellington type boots and consists of a a vertical plank upon which are arranged at horizontal intervals projecting members which are spaced so that a pair of Wellington boots can be suspended from them upside down and are spaced vertically so that the pair of boots above substantially overlaps the pair of boots below thus saving space. The entire unit may be mounted vertically against a wall and provides compact storage for boots.

Description

BOOT RACK THE INVENTION relates to a storage rack for Wellington-type boots.
A description of one specific embodiment of the general principle of storage follows.
Figure 1 Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the rack. Ine rack consists of a vertical plank 1 out of which project dowels 2 of usually. but not exclusively, round cross sectional shape. The dowels 2 are arranoed in threes and may be angled upwards slightly to suit the average angle 3 found in a Wellington boot 4. The boots 4 hang in pairs upside down and over lap one another to maximise use of space.
Figure : Figure 2 shows the average angle a of a Wellington boot 4.
Figures : Figure 3 shows a front view of the rack containing two pairs of boots 4.
Figure : Figure 4 shows a side view of the rack with the angle a of the dowels 2.
Figure 5: Figure shows an alternative arrangement for securing the boot 4 which illustrates that the actual method of securing the boot may var.

Claims (3)

  1. CLAIMS 1. A device for storing Wellington boots vertically in a vertical overlanoing arrangement.
  2. 2. A device for storina Wellington boots vertically in a vertical overlapping arrangement held by means of projecting dowels or members.
  3. 3. A device for storing Wellington boots vertically consisting of a vertical member upon which are fixed projecting dowels, battens or pins of any cross sectional shape the Wellington boots being stored in pairs between the dowels battens or pins upside down and overlapping in such a manner as to maximise use of space.
