Abstract
An exercise bike may be folded in order to take up less space when it is not in use. It has two laterally extending supports 15 which may be folded inwards when bolts (16, fig.3A) are loosened. A saddle support rod 41 can move within tube 4, and a handle support rod 51 can be pivoted towards the rear of the bike. In order to pivot the handle support rod 51 a bolt (59, fig.6) must be removed and another one (58, fig.6) loosened. Pedals (3, fig.5) are received on connection blocks (22, fig.5) in such a way that they can be rotated upwards towards the casing when the bike is not in use.
Description
TITLE : BICYCLE TYPE EXERCISEUR BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a bicycle type exerciser. More particularly, the present invention relates to a bicycle type exerciser which can be folded into a compact configuration.
A conventional bicycle type exerciser has a very combersome structure a : vd many elemnets in order to fold the conventional bicycle type exerciser into a compact configuration. Therefore, it is very difficult to fold a conventional bicycle type exerciser into a compact configuration.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
An object of the present invention is to provide a bicycle type exerciser which can be folded into a compact configuration.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a bicycle ty, e exerciser of a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention ;
FIG. 2 is an elevational view of a bicycle type exerciser of a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention ;
FIG. 3 is a porspectiva expioded vieo, of a rear s\t andnd two lateral frames;
FIG. 3A is a schematic view illustrating two lateral frames are folded ;
FIG. 4 is a part ally perspective view of a saddle, a saddle support rod, a tube, and a main casing;
FIG. 5 is a partially perspective exploded view of a drive shaft, a connection block, and a pedal ;
FIG. 5A is a schematic view illustrating a pedal is folded upward;
FIG. 6 is a perspective exploded view of a pipe and a handle support rod;
FIG. 7 is a perspective view of a bicycle type exerciser while the bicycle type exerciser is folded into a compact configuration; and
FIG. 8 is an elevational view of FIG. 7.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Referring to FIGS. 1 to 6, a bicycle type exerciser comprises a base plate 1, a front frame 11 connected to the base plate 1, a rear seat 12 connected to the base plate 1, two lateral frames 15 engaging with the rear seat 12, a main casing 2 disposed on the base plate 1, a tube 4 disposed on the main casing 2 a pipe 5 disposed on the main casing 2, a saddle support rod 41 disposed on the tube 4, a saddle 45 disposed on the saddle support rod 41, a hamTdle support rod 51 disposed on the pipe 5, a handle 6 disposed on the handle support rod 61, display device 7 disposed on the handle support rod 51, a connection plate 54 surrounding a lower portion of the handle support rod 51 and an upper portion of the pipe 5, a drive shaft 21 passing through the main casing 2, and two connection blocks 22 connected to two ends of the drive shaft 21. Two pedals 3 are connected to the connection blocks 22.
The base plate 1 has two oblong holes 14, and a hollow interior 13 receiving the lateral frames 15.
Each of the lateral frames 15 has a through hole 17, and a bevel end 16. Two screws 19 fasten the base plate 1 and the lateral frames 15 together via the oblong holes 14 and the through holes 17. Two nuts 18 engage with the screws 19.
Each of the pedals 3 has a connection portion 32, and a notch 31. Each of the connection blocks 22 is inserted in the respective connection portion 32 via the respective notch 31. An elongated bolt 33 and a nut 34 fasten the respective pedal 3 and the respective connection block 22 together.
The tube 4 has a threaded aperture 44. The saddle support rod 41 has a plurality of round apertures 42. An adjustment bolt 43 fastens the tube 4 and the saddle support rod 41 together via the threaded aperture 44 and one of the round apertures 42.
The connection plate 54 han two slide slots 55, and a round hole 56.
The handle support rod 51 lias a circular hole 52 and a threaded hole 53.
A stud 57 fastens the connection plate 54 and the handle support rod 51 via the slide slots 55 and the circular hole 52. A nut 58 engages with the stud 57.
A positioning bolt 59 fastens the connection plate 54 and the handle support rod 51 via the round hole 56 and the threaded hole 53.
A fastener pin 61 fastens the handle 6 and the handle support rod 51 together.
Referring to FIG. 3A again, the nuts 18 are loosened.
The lateral frames 15 are folded toward a center line.
Referring to FIG. 5A again, the pedals 3 are folded upward.
Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, the edjustment bolt 43 is loosened. The saddle support rod 41 is retracted.
The nuts 58 and the positioning bolt 59 are loosened.
The handle support rod 51 is rotated inward.
