Abstract
A drinking vessel with a straw includes a drink containing part (1) and a straw (2); the containing part (1) has a drink exit opening (12) on a lower end portion. A rubber ring (22) is fixedly mounted on an inserted end portion (21) of the straw (2), and a valve (14) be received in the exit opening (12) the straw (2) is detachably inserted into the exit opening (12) to form a water tight connection. The valve (14) prevents the drink from leaking out therethrough, and is opened to allow the drink to flow therethrough to the straw (2) on the user's sucking the drink from the straw (2). The valve is preferably a resilient disc with two elongate slits crossing each other.
Description
DRINKING VESSEL WITH AN INTERGRAL STRAN' BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a drinking vessel, and particularly to one which includes a drink containing part, and a straw connected to, and a communicating with, inside of the drinks containing part such that a user can suck the drinks through the straw.
In light of the facts that it is not convenient for females to drink a drink from a glass directly when they have coloured their lips with lipsticks, and that a person has to move or even invert a glass to drink the last bit of drink in it, a drinking vessel having a straw connected to the drinks containing part is devised.
Referring to Fig. 9, a heretofore know drinking vessel as disclosed in U. S. patent no. 4,428,490 has a containing part 3 and a straw 31; the straw 31 is coupled to a bottom of the containing part 3, and communicates with inside of the containing part 3. A user can suck the liquid held inside the containing part 3 through the straw 3 to his/her mouth.
However, the straw 31 is connected to the containing part 3 in an undetachable manner, and consequently has following disadvantages.
1. Being narrow and undetachably connected to the containing part 3,
the straw 31 is difficult to clean after use. Consequently dirt
would accumulate inside the straw 31, without effective means to
clean.
2. Being undetachably connected to the containing part 3, the straw
31 cannot e discarded alone and replaced with a new and clean one
when it has become too dirty to use.
SUMMARY
The present invention relates to a drinking vessel including a drinks helding part and a straw detachably connected to the holding part.
In light of the facts that the prior art drinking vessel has the straw undetachably connected to the containing part, and consequently a dirty straw cannot be replaced without having to discard the containing part that is still useful, the present invention is aimed at devising a drinking vessel having a detachable straw connected the containing part such that the straw can be removed for cleaning of same to be easier, and can be replaced with a new and clean one.
The drinking vessel of the present invention consists of a drinks containing part and a straw; the straw is detachable connected to an exit opening of a lower end portion of the containing part; a valve is received in the exit opening for preventing the drink from leaking out therethrough, and can be opened for permitting the drink to flow out to the straw on the user's sucking the drink from the straw.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The present invention will be better understood by reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Fig. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a drinking vessel of the present invention.
Fig. 2 is a partial view, on an enlarged scale of the drinking vessel shown inFig. 1, in the inserted end portion of the straw and the connecting portion area.
Fig. 3 is a top view of the drinking vessel shown in Fig. 1.
Fig. 4 is an exploded perspective view of a drinking vessel according to the second embodiment of the present invention.
Fig. 5 is a sectional view of the drinking vessel shown in Fig. 4.
Fig. 6 is a partial view, on an enlarged scale of the drinking vessel in Fig. 4, in the inserted end portion of the straw and the connecting portion area.
Fig. 7 is a view showing the drinking vessel according to the second embodiment of the present invention under use.
Fig. 8 is a partial view, on an enlarged scale of the drinking vessel shown in Fig. 7, in the inserted end portion of the straw and the connecting portion area.
Fig. 9 is a perspective view of a prior art drinking vessel as described in the Background.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMB3DIMENT A drinking vessel of the present invention, referring to Figs. 1 and 3, comprises a drink containing part 1 and a straw 2 as main parts.
The containing part 1 has a connecting portion 11 on a lower end portion thereof; the connecting portion 11 has an exit opening 12.
The straw 2 has an inserted end portion 21; a rubber ring 22 is fixedly mounted on the inserted end portion 21. The rubber ring 22 and the end portion 21 are inserted into the exit opening 12 of the containing part 1 to form a watertight connection as shown in Fig. 2. Thus, a user can suck the drink contained in the containing part 1 to his mouth through the straw 2.
Referring to Fig. 4, the drinking vessel of the present invention further has a valve 14 fitted to an inner annular recess 13 of the connecting portion 11; the valve 14 is circle having two elongate exits 141 crossing each other, and is resilient ; the exits are formed such that they do not allow water to flow therethrough unless an external force acts
thereupon. Thus, when the straw inserted end portion 21 is accidentally separated from the containing part 1, the drink contained in the containing part 1 would not flow out from the exit opening 12.
When a user sucks the drink from the straw 2, referring to Figs. 7 and 8, the elongate exits 141 would be opened by a sucking force resulting
from the sucking of the user for permitting the drink to flow through the valve 14 into the straw 2.
From the above description, it can be understood that the drinking vessel of the present invention has following advantages.
1. Being detachable, the straw can be cleaned more easily. And, when
it is too dirty to use, it can be replaced with a new one.
2. The valve can prevent the drink from leaking out when the straw is
accidentally separated from the connecting portion of the
containing part.
3. The rubber ring helps the straw and the connecting portion to
connect in a watertight manner for preventing drink from leaking
out.
4. Being separable, either the straw or the containing part can be
replaced alone with a new one when damaged or becoming too dirty
for saving the user's money.
Claims (2)
1. A drinking vessel with an integral straw, comprising:
a drink containing part having a connecting portion on a lower end portion thereof, said connecting portion having an exit opening for a drink contained in said containing part to flow out therethrough,
a straw having an inserted end portion inserted into a rubber ring, said rubber ring being received in said exit opening of said containing part in a watertight manner for preventing said drink from leaking through between said straw inserted end portion and said exit opening.
2. The drnking vessel with an integral straw as claimed in claim 1, wherein said containing part further has a valve fitted to an innerannular recess of said connecting portion, said valve being a circle having two elongate exits crossing each other, and being resilient for providing said exit opening a watertight closure to prevent said drink to leak out therethrough, said elongate exits being capable of opening for permitting said drink to flow therethrough on a user's sucking said drink from said straw.
