Abstract

The invention relates to a piece of street furniture comprising a structure (1) incorporating two internally illuminated advertising panels (2) and a multi-channel closed circuit television security system. The system includes video cameras located in a camera housing (3) above the advertising panels (2), and connected to video recording equipment located in a base (6) below the advertising panels.

Description

A PIECE OF STREET FURNITURE The product is a piece of street furniture which is erected and located on the footpath. It will incorporate the first multi-channel close circuit television system (MCCCTV) within a structure that also has two internally illuminated advertising panels. The (MCCCTV) system will have up to ten cameras within the camera housing.

The (MCCCTV) system has been designed and developed by the applicant. A number of the cameras will pan the pedestrians for and on behalf of the local government (covering street pedestrians,"street security") whilst a number of other cameras will target specific buildings (private channels). The advertising element will be directe at the vehicular traffic on the road and the pedestrian traffic on the footpath.

It is the ability of the (MCCCTV) system to record all the activity (forementioned) and store within the structure giving a 3 day call back of any incident that may have happened. The call back will be in a full colour tape digital recording. This tape will be supplied to the police or any other authorised authority.

The advertising will be marketed to the advertising industry.

Claims (5)

1. CLAIMS 1. A structure for use as a piece of street furniture, including means for displaying an advertising element, and a closed circuit television (CCTV) system comprising at least one camera and means to record and store the camera output.

A structure as claimed in claim 1, wherein the CCTV system is a multi-channel CCTV security system, the structure including a camera housing located above the display means and containing a plurality of video cameras connected to video recording equipment contained in a housing located below the display means.
3. 3. A structure as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein the recorda and storage means has the capacity to record and store the camera output for retrieval over a period of several days.
4. 4. A structure as claimed in claim 1,2 or 3, wherein the display means comprises two internally illuminated advertising panels for viewing by vehicular and/or pedestrian traffic.
5. 5. A structure for use as a piece of strut furniture, substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
