Abstract

An extruded carpet edge protector is lain adjacent a skirting and floorboards, receives a carpet gripper, and prevents the carpet edge from being soiled by stopping sooty air from flowing out between the skirting and floorboards.

Description

2341795 THE DESCIUIPTION CARPET EDGE RPOTECTOR The invention relates to a
problem people have when a soot like substance soils the edge of carpets when layed over floor boards.
Carpets layed over floor boards will in many circumstances around the skirting board edge have a sooty air like substance convected through the boards exiting at the skirting where the skirting sits on the floor boards and then soiling the carpet edge.
The object of this invention is to protect the edge of the carpet from being soiled and by its profile the invention does this by stopping the convected air from coming in touch with the carpet edge.
Accordingly this invention provides protection to the carpet edge.
This invention by its extrusion profile which can be cut to any length has a certain rigidity which would by its precision help any carpet layer fix his carpet gripper in precisely the right position.

Claims (5)

  1. 2 CLAIMS
    I AN EXTRUSION, WITH A PROFILE DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE EDGE OF CARPETS LAID OVER FLOOR BOARDS, FROM A SOOT LIKE SUBSTANCE WHICH IS CONVECTED UP THROUGH THE FLOOR BOARDS, AND EXITS AT THE POINT, WHERE THE SKIRTING SITS ON THE BOARDS.
  2. 2. A PROFILE OF THE SAID EXTRUSION (FIG 1) AS IN CLAIM.l.
  3. 3. THIS EXTRUSION AS IN CLAIM I AND 2 WILL BE EXTRUDED IN MATERIALS TO BE DECIDED AT MANUFACTURE TIME.
  4. 4. THIS EXTRUSION AS IN CLAMS' 1 2 AND 3 WILL BE BY ITS PROFME AS ILLUSTRATED IN FIG 49 OFFER A PRECISE POSITION FOR THE CARPET LAYER TO FIX THE CARPET GRIPPER WHEN THE EXTRUSION IS USED.
  5. 5. EXTRUSION AS HEREIN DESCRIBED AND ILLUSTRATED IN THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS.
