Abstract
A box for holding two items such as pizzas one above the other is folded from a blank to include inwardly projecting ledges for supporting the upper pizza.
Description
2341595 DOUBLE-DECKER BOX TO DELIVER HOT FOOD (Technical field) This
invention relates to a design of a double-decker box to deliver hot food (Background) Stiff single cardboard box are well used to home deliver hot food particularly pizza. These boxes are cut from stiff flat cardboard and mounted in a cubical shape to accommodate pizza so that it can be delivered at home very conveniently. Each box contains one pizza and for multiple order a separate box must be prepared for each single item. This procedure is both material and labour incentive and used boxes are destroyed. Additionally, heat exchange and loss of heat defeats the object of delivering a hot dish as intended.
(Essential Technical features) According to the present invention there is provided a double-decker box which is designed to accommodate two pizza in the same box or even one pizza and other hot side dishes. In this novel method, stiff flat cardboard are used, but the geometry of the box has been altered in such a way that although it remains cubical box at the outset with one single layout but it is assembled to provide a double-decker housing to contain two orders within the same box. Added hinges lids and middle partition further strengthen the box than which is achieved in box designed for single order. Additional holes are made to avoid condensation and loss of quality of the delivered food. Heat loss is proportionally lower hence gives a hotter meal as intended. Saving in material(cardboard) and labour cost (assembly) hence reducing the unit cost of each package.
1 (Example) A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:
Figure 1 shows the assembled box front view.
Figure 2 shows the assembled box in its side view.
Figure 3 shows the assembled box top view.
Figure 4 shows the box in its flat (NET) position.
Figure 5 shows the 3-1) view of the assembled box.
Statement of novelty
Claims (7)
- Thefeature of the designfor which novelty is claimed resides in the shape& configuration of the article as shown in the representation.-1, CLAIMS 1. A double-decker box cut out from a single flat sheet of stiff Cardboard dented along its border lines for conveniently folding to be assembled as cubical box.
- 2. A double-decker box as claimed in Claim I where a rectangle base area edged up along two opposite sides with side wall where additional folding gives the middle partition.
- 3. A double-decker box as claimed in Claim 1 and Claim 2 where the box is edged up along the other two opposite side to configure the side walls.
- 4. A double-decker box as claimed in Claim I and Claim 3 where the box is reinforced with additional edge at one end to fold over the previously folded up side wall and tucked in the base to secure and strengthen this edge.
- 5. A double-decker box as claimed in Claim 3 and Claim 4 where the box is edged up on its fourth side by folding the side edge where it folds further to provide the top panel.
- 6. A double-decker box as claimed in Claim 4 and Claim 5 where the top panel is fold down along its other 3 edges to give further side panels which is tucked into previously erected side edges thus securing and strengthening the box even further hence forming a completed design.
- 7. A double-decker box designed substantially as described herein with reference to figures 1 - 5 of the accompanying sketches.
