Description

1 2338566 A MAGNETIC ASSEMBLING STRUCTURE FOR ASSEMBLING A FIT-ON
SPECTACLE FRAME WITH A SPECTACLE FRAME The present invention relates to a magnetic assembling structure for assembling a fit-on spectacle frame with a spectacle frame. The assembling structure is simplified and enables the fit-on spectacle frame to combine with the spectacle frame in a unified appearance. Also, the assembling structure is able to more firmly associate the fit-on spectacle frame with the spectacle frame without detachment even during dynamic action of a wearer.
It is known that a fit-on spectacle frame can be directly assembled with an original spectacle frame so as to expand the function of the spectacles. For example, a pair of sunglasses can be assembled with a pair of reading glasses. Such fit-on spectacle frame is detachably assembled with the original spectacle frame by means of various kinds of structures. In a conventional assembling structure, the fit-on spectacle frame is detachably assembled with the original one by magnetic members. In such structure, each side of each corner piece of the spectacle frame is disposed with a cylindrical first magnetic member and each side of the fit-on spectacle frame is disposed with a stopper rod (extending arm) to be supported on top edge of the corner piece. The stopper rod is disposed with a second magnetic member corresponding to the first magnetic member. The first and second magnetic members can attract each other so as to detachably combine the original and fit-on spectacle frames with each other.
- 2 The magnetically attaching faces of the first and second magnetic members are parallel to the connecting direction of the stopper rod and the corner piece, that is, the stopper rod is engaged with the corner piece in a stacking state. Therefore, the combining force is provided by the magnetically attractive force of the magnetic members. Accordingly, when suffering a transverse pushing force (such as pushing the spectacles upward with hand) or longitudinal pulling force (such as placing the spectacles upright), the magnetic members are apt to slip relative to each other. This often leads to detachment of the fit-on spectacle frame from the original one. The stopper rod of the fit-on spectacle frame serves to is substantially clamp the top edge of the original spectacle frame and enhance the combination strength. However, the main combination force still comes from the magnetically attractive force. Therefore, when the magnetic members which parallelly attach to each other suffer external force to slip, the two spectacle frames can be hardly ensured to firmly assemble with each other. Therefore, when a wearer wears the spectacles to jump or run, the fit-on spectacle frame is quite apt to disassemble from the original one.
Moreover, in the conventional assembling structure, the magnetic members are exposed outside, that is, when not assembled, the cylindrical first magnetic member and the second magnetic member can be easily seen at specific portions of the spectacle frames. This leads to poor appearance of the spectacle frames.
I 1 It is therefore a primary object of the present invention to provide a magnetic assembling structure for assembling a fit-on spectacle frame with a spectacle frame. A bowl-shaped seat is disposed on inner side of each corner piece of the spectacle frame. An extending arm is disposed on each side of the fit-on spectacle frame. A free end of the extending arm is also disposed with a bowl-shaped seat with a hook aspect. A very small square magnet (2mm') is placed in each of the bowl-shaped seat of the corner piece and the bowl-shaped seat of the extending arm. When the bowl-shaped seats are engaged with each other, the extending arm horizontally extends to inner side of the corner piece of the spectacle frame in a is riding state. At this time, the magnets placed in the bowl-shaped seats attract each other to combine the fit-on spectacle frame with the original one. Accordingly, the attaching faces of the magnets are normal to the fitting direction of the fit-on spectacle frame. Therefore, not only the magnetically attractive force firmly combines them with each other, but also the hook-like extending arm can directly extend across the corner piece to inner side thereof to hook the two bowl-shaped seats with each other and more tightly associate the fit-on spectacle frame with the original spectacle frame. Therefore, the two spectacle frames are prevented from detaching from each other when subject to external force, especially during jumping or running action.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide the above assembling structure in which the bowl-shaped seats are designed in a hidden state so that no matter whether the original spectacle frame is assembled with the fit-on spectacle frame or not, the spectacle frame always has a tidy appearance.
Accordingly, the present invention provides a magnetic assembling structure for assembling a fit-on spectacle frame with a spectacle frame, comprising at least one magnet disposed on each side of each of the fiton spectacle frame and the spectacle frame, the at least one magnet on each side of the fit-on spectacle frame disposed on an extending arm, the at least one magnet on each side of the spectacle frame disposed on an inner side of the spectacle frame, such that assembly of the fit-on spectacle frame with the spectacle frame causes the at least one magnet on each side of the fit-on spectacle frame to contact, and is magnetically attract, the corresponding at least one magnet on each side of the spectacle frame, wherein the contacting faces of the magnets are normal to the fitting direction of the fit-on spectacle frame.
A particular embodiment of the present invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a front view of the original spectacle frame of the present invention; Figure 2 is a front view of the fit-on spectacle frame of the present invention; Figure 3 is a top exploded view of the original and fit-on spectacle frames of the present invention; Figure 4 is a front assembled view of the original and fit-on spectacle frames of the present invention; Figure 5 is a top assembled view of the original and fit-on spectacle frames of Figure 4; and Figure 6 is a sectional view of a part of the present invention.
Please refer to Figures 1 to 6. A bowl-shaped seat is disposed on inner side of each corner piece 11 of the spectacle frame 1. An extending arm 21 is disposed on each side of a fit-on spectacle frame 2. A free end of the extending arm 21 is also disposed with a bowl-shaped seat 22 with a hook aspect. A square magnet 3 with a small volume (2mm') is placed in each of the bowl-shaped seat 12 of the corner piece 11 and the bowl-shaped seat 22 of the extending arm 21. When the bowl-shaped seat 22 of the fit-on spectacle frame 2 is engaged with the bowl-shaped seat 12 of the spectacle frame 1, the extending arm 21 can is horizontally extend to inner side of the corner piece 11 of the spectacle frame 1 in a riding state. At this time, the magnets 3 placed in the hook-like bowlshaped seat 22 of the extending arm 21 and the bowlshaped seat 12 of the corner piece 11 magnetically 20 attract each other as shown in Figures 5 and 6. Accordingly, the attaching faces of the magnets 3 are normal to the fitting direction of the fit-on spectacle frame 2. Therefore, when the fit-on spectacle frame 2 is assembled with the spectacle frame 1, not only the magnetically attractive force firmly combines them with each other, but also the hook- like extending arm 21 can directly extend across the corner piece 11 to inner side thereof to hook the two bowl-shaped seats 12, 22 with each other and more 30 tightly associate the fit-on spectacle frame 2 with the spectacle frame 1. Therefore, the two spectacle frames 1, 2 are prevented from detaching each other when subject to external force in some directions. In addition, the bowl-shaped seats 12, 22 are designed in 35 a hidden state so that no matter whether the spectacle frame 1 is assembled with the fit-on spectacle frame 2 or not, the spectacle frame 1 has an appearance just like the original appearance.
