Abstract

A removable exterior panel carrying case includes a panel or panels 10 which are releasably secured to the inner case 12. The panels which are of a different material to the inner are adapted with a mechanism to allow them to be removed and replaced. The interior of the case is provided with a mechanism to allow removal and replacement of the outer panels.

2337450 REMOVABLE EXTERIOR PANEL CARRYING CASE This ffivention relates to
a carrying case with removable and replacable exterior panels.
Carrying cases are well known items which are typically manufactured as an integral one piece unit without separate exterior panels or coverings. The internal carrying case sections and the external case sides are conventionally and permanently secured and are therefore unalterable. No subsequent choice of visual adaptation in colour, logo variation or ornamentation is available to the owner. Conventional carrying cases with permanently secured sides do not allow panels to be attached or detached. They cannot be changed from their original, non-adaptable, purpose built form. Such carrying cases have been produced in this unadaptable form for over 20 years.
Accordmig to the present invention there is provided a carrying case with external removable side panels. The present invention comprising harder external protective panel or panels, releasably secured to an inner textile material carrying case. The outer shell panels can be removed with the possibility of interchanging like-form panels. This affords the owner the choice to change the panels which can vary Mi colour, texture, logo and ornamentation.
The outer shell is produced from a three dimensional form or tooling, which through applied thermal and/or dynamics, or injection moulding renders the raw material into its particular shape.
The Miternal, softer textile material case is manufactured using traditional industrial lockstitch construction.
The harder moulded outer shell and softer inner texture case are releasably secured together. 1 The invention allows the owner to remove and replace the outer shells when they become overworn. It may not be necessary to replace the inner textile case at the same time as it has been afforded protection by the hard outer shell during service. An environmental concern for recycling can be addressed here as the panels can be recycled and re-formed for future use.
2 In order that the invention may be more readily understood some embodiments therof will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Figure 1 Shows in perspective the external panels, complete with inner carrying case; Figure 2 Is a top plan view of one panel without inner bag; Figure 3 Is an upper edge panel view without inner bag; Figure 4 Is a lower edge panel view without inner bag; Figure 5 Is a cross section from the side without inner bag; Figure 6 Shows the inner bag in perspective without the exterior panels; Figure 7 Shows the inner bag with exterior panel removed firom position; Referring to the drawing, the removable exterior panel carrying case comprises a hard exterior panel or panels 10 and a softer interior case 12. The exterior panel or panels 10 are releasably secured to the inner bag by, for example hook and loop tapes attached to the inner and outer shells 16 respectively, rivets, bolts, or similar means (not shown). On the top side of the inner bag a handle and adjustable strap mechanism 14 is provided.

Claims (1)

1. A carTymg case with removable exterior panels which are adapted to be releasably secured to the inner carrying case.
A carrying case as claimed in claim 1 where the panels of a difFerent material to the inner are applied to the inner.
A carTymig case as claimed 'm claim 1 or claim 2 where interchangeable panels,secrete additional features below the panel or panels.
A carrying case as claimed in claim 3 where all or part of the panel to which the outer panel is to be attached provides a mechanism for releasably secure attachment.

A carrying case as claimed in the previous claims where all or part of the outer panel provides a mechanism to allow it to be releasably attached to the interior part of the case.
6. A carrying case with removable exterior panels substantially as herin described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
