Abstract
A multi-tap for a cable TV system comprises two circuit boards 11 and 21 and a signal port between them. The signal port comprises a first connector 14 on the first circuit board 11, a second connector 23 on the second circuit board 21, and a signal transmitting terminal base 4. The terminal base has connecting portions 42 and 43 to connect to the circuit board connectors and so to support the circuit boards, and is mounted on a seat 2. The quality of the transmitted signal (which may be a telephone signal) is retained, and the circuit boards can easily be removed for repair.
Description
1 11 2337369 SIGNAL PORT OF MULTI-TAP The present invention relates to an
improved signal port of a multi-tap, especially to a signal port installed inside of a cable TV's multi-tap that transmits cable TV and telephone sianals at the same time.
In general, there are two kinds of rnulti-tap of cable TV: one kind only transmits signals of cable TV and other one can transmit signals of cable TV and telephone at the same time. Referring to Fig. 1, the solid decomposing view of the signal port Inside the multi-tap is shown, wherein the multi-tap includes a first seat 1, a first circuit board 11 arranged on the first seat 1, a second scat 2 installed on one end of the first seat, a second circuit board 21 arranced on the second scat 2, a transmitting component 12 fixedly installed on the first circuit board 11, and a conducting line 1 3) of a signal connector 131 connected with the transmitting component 12. The transmitting, component 12 is connected with the conducting, line 13 and they are integrally arranged by an insulatin resin (not shown in figure) within the hole 3 that pass through the 1 9 seats 1 and 2. The conducting lire 13) is connected with a terminal 22 of the second circuit board 21 by the signal connector 131 for providing a power source required by the signal of telephone within the first circuit board 11. However, in the aforementioned signal port structure including the transmitting component 12, the conducting line 13, the signal connector 131 and the terminal 22, the conducting line 13 is easy to be broken due to the constant detachment during the repairing or the assembly of the circuit board and the signal transmitting quality will become worse or even be cut off due to the ill quality of the conducting line's material. Therefore, this causes difficulties for the proceeding, of the work.
Accordingly, the object of the present invention is to solve the aforementioned problem. The signal port of the present invention includes a first transmitting W connector fixedly installed on the first circuit board, a second transmitting connector 1 fixedly installed on the second circuit board, and a signal transmitting terminal base 1 1 2 arranged on the seat. By the connection of the signal transmitting, terminal base with the first and the second connecting portions, the quality of the signal transmission is retained and it facilitates the work of the user.
The present invention will be better understood and its numerous objects and advantages will become apparent to those skilled in the an by referencinIg. to the followina drawincys in which:
0 0 Fig. 1 is a solid decomposing view of the signal port inside a multi-tap of the prior art.
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the signal port inside a multi-tap in the first embodiment of the present invention.
Fig. 3;s a perspective view of the signal port of the multi-tap in the second embodiment of the present invention.
Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the signal port of the multi-tap in the third ernbodiment of the present invention.
Referring to Figg. 2, the perspective view of the sig al port inside a multi-tap in the In first embodiment of the present invention is shown. The multi-tap includes the first circuit board 11 with the first transmitting connector 14 fixedly installed on the first scat 1, the second circuit board 21 with the second transmitting connector 23) fixedly installed on the second seat 2, and the signal transmitting terminal base 4 fixed on the seat 1, wherein each of the first and second transmitting connectors 14 and 23 have at least one respective outlets 141 and 23) 1, while the signal transmitting terminal base 4 flirther includes the first connecting portion 42 and the second connecting portion 43, and each of the first and second connecting portions 42 and 43 has at least one I conductors 421 and 43 1 to engage with the outlets 141 and 23) 1, respectively. Besides, the isolation element 41 is flirther added between the first connecting portion 42 of the signal transmittina terminal base 4 and the through hole 3' between the seats 1 and 2, making the engagement of the signal transmitting terminal base 4 and the second seat 2 steadier by the fixing screws 91 and 92.
1 3 Referring to Fig. 3, the perspective view of the signal port of the multi- tap in the second embodiment of the present invention is shown. The multi- tap includes the first circuit board 11 of the first transmitting connector 15 fixedly installed on the first seat 1, the second circuit board 21 of the second transmittinR connector 24 fixedly installed on the second scat 2, and a slanal transmittina terminal base 5 fixed on the seat 1, wherein the first transmitting connector 15 has at least one outlet 15 1, while the transmitting connector 24 has at least one conductor 241. The signal transmitting terminal base 5 further includes the first connecting portion 52 and the second connecting portion 53, and the first connectina portion 52 has at least one conductor 521, and the second connecting portion 53) has at least one outlet 531 so that signal transmittina terminal base 5 may engage with the first and second connecting portion 52 and 53). Besides, the isolation element 51 is further added between the first connecting portion 52 of the signal transmitting terminal base 5 and the through hole between the seats 1 and 2, making the engagement of the signall transmitting 0 terminal base 5 and the second seat 2 steadier by the fixing screws 91 and 92.
Refeming to Fla. 4, te pc.rspective view of the signal port of the multitap in the third embodiment o L' the prIesent invention is shown. The first transmitting connector 14, the second transmitting connector 23), and 'the signal transmitting, terminal base 4 in the first embodiment are improved as the first transmitting. connector 16 with at least one conductor 161, the second transmittincy connector 25 with at least one conductor 1, and the signal transmitting terminal base 6 with at least one outlet (621 and 63 1) on the first and second connecting portion 62 and 633, respectively, engaging the signal transmitting terminal base 6 with the first and second transmitting. portion 62 and 63.
Besides, the isolation element 61 is further added between the first connecting portion 62 of the sianal transmittin. terminal base 6 and the throu.h hole 3 between the seats 1 and 2, making the engagement of the sional transmittina terminal base 6 and the second seat 2 steadier by the fixing screws 91 and 92.
W In summary, the present invention provides an improved signal port of the multitap, which includes the first transmitting connector, the second transmitting connector, signal transmittina terminal base, wherein the isolation element added between the first
4 signal transmitting terminal bases and the seat is manufactured by a rubber or plastic pad.
The various embodiments described above are provided by way of illustration only and should not be constructed to limit the invention. Those skilled in the art will readily recognize various modifications and chances which may be made to the present invention without following strictly the exemplary embodiment and application illustrated and descnibed herein, andwithout departing from the true spirit and scope of the present invention which is set forth in the following claims.
