Abstract
A Duel Component package comprises a two compartment tubular pack having an inner and outer tube one inside the other, filled with dissimilar materials that are to be kept separated until mixed for use. This is achieved by filling both tubes and sealing at one end 17, then capping and sealing at the other end. When the cap and seal are removed, the tube is squeezed by hand or by mechanical dispenser, causing the two components to be extruded through a nozzle 14,15 to a single outlet orifice, onto a pallet or through a tubular mixing attachment. The cap and seal can be replaced at any time there by resealing the tubes for further use; any hazard warnings or instruction can be printed on the outer face of the package.
Description
2335901 L DUAL COMPONANT CO-AXIAL FLEXABLE PACKAGE This invention is a
Dual Material Packaging, permitting materials of different Chemical Types, such as Epoxy, Polyester or Vynal Ester Resins, together with Dibenzoyl Peroxide, although equally suitable for Adhesives, Fillers, Foods, Colour, Flavour or Pharmaceutical products that would normally be packed separately, then mixed or combined prior to use, being packaged in a single flexible collapsible Co-Axial container, permitting differing volume and ratio of mix, coming together at a single point.
Whilst there are dual packaging products already available, they,' are of a very, robust plastic injection moulded design, consisting of up to eight parts, all injection moulded often costing more than the component cost within them, being of such robust design, causes an environmental problem when being disposed of, as they are bulky and not being recyclable due to contamination and being manufactured of plastic material compound that is impervious to most if not all known elements. Or alternatively there are flat twin pack containers being mixed in the bag, having to be total used in a single application or the remainder being disposed of as waste, whilst others come together into a common detachable outside nozzle, all being either over engineered or wasteful and difficult to use.
The principle objective of my invention is to dispense materials of differing volume and ty e's at p precise constant ratio's to each other, from a single container, also reducing the excessive material waste contained in present Co-Axial designed products, This design also eliminates the possibility of leakage of hazardous chemicals, havingjust one or two parts with no seals, plungers or mechanical parts, the material's are kept apart until squeezed through the novel by-pass nozzle, to the tip of both inner and outer nozzle's, into a mixing pallet or a self mixing tube ( not shown) as currently used with this type of product, all being reflected in a much reduced production cost, and environmental waste, yet still being simple to use in small amounts then being resealable with very, little bulk waste when extinguished.
1 The main components of this product will be manufactured from, but not limited to, Nylon or High Density Polyethylene ( HDP) with the tubes being manufactured from multi membrane extruded film such as Polyester (PE), Aluminium, Lead alloy, Nylon, Polypropylene( LDP) or Polyethylene (PET). Of minimum thickness, heat or ultrasonically welded together and assembled together to make a flexible thinwall tube within a tube, sealed all round, with a conventional bottle screw type sealing cap, it may also be manufactured all in a one piece technically possible, by or blow moulding method. As shown in Drawing component 1 No.SJR.001 The preferred embodiment of this invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings No. SJR.00 1. in which.
FIG]:- Inner Tube 1 O is manufactured either in one piece, (As shown) or fabricated about the Inner Nozzle, having the Nozzle moulded with two flats 14, after filling with liquid material, from either end, will then be plugged with item '13'and heat sealed 16' prior to assembly, with Tube - 11'.
1 FIG1-Outer Tube 'I l' is manufactured by insertion of a filled Inner Tube assembly '10' into the outer tube nozzle, then fabricating a larger Tube '11 ' around it, or a one piece tube (As shown) which is then filled and scaled together '17' then capped with item 12 to make a one piece Duel Component Package FIG1- Completed dual tube assembly, through section, showing the novel by- pass principal at 14' and '15' The overall principal of the manufacture and operation of this invention is as follows:- 1. Manufacture in a one piece Blow Moulding' 10' or Injection mould an Inner Nozzle, with two flat sections on the mounting spigot 14', fabricate a tube about its outer rim heat Z:1 welding the tubes to the nozzle and along its full length, then filling this tube with a liquid component from either end, heat sealing the end of tube, '16', then finish with a plug '137 into the nozzle tip.
2. Take the Inner tube assembly 4 1W locate Spigot '14 into Recess '15' and heat weld to the Outer Nozzle '11 '. Fabricate a larger tube about the nozzle and heat weld to nozzle and along its full length, (Or manufacture in one piece by Blow Moulding) then once again fill the outer tube from either end, around the inner tube assembly '10' with another liquid component, heat sealing flat area through both inner and outer tubes '17' punch two holes ' 18^ through the flat ends of tube assemblies for location and retention into a (dispensing gun, not shown) place cap '12' over screw end to secure all components.
3. The use of this invention is as follows:- The dual tube assembly is opened by removing the cap 12' and plug 1 'D ' from both tube ends, then by squeezing the tube assembly, both liquid contents are pushed forward at the same constant rate, the inner contents pass straight through the small inner nozzle, while the liquid in the outer nozzle passes through the bypass chamber ' 15' around the inner nozzle by way of the cut away sides, section 414', through the outer nozzle and meets the inner liquid at the tip of both nozzles, the mixing of both components is achieved by mixing by hand, or through a spiral mixing tube of others manufacture. ( Not shown in this application) 4. This design is based on a 400ml. volume package assemblywith a 10.. 1 ratio, for use with but not limited to, Polyester Resin and DibenzoA Peroxide. for fixing bolts and fastenings to rock face or concrete, the sizes and ratios can e varied to 'suit.
The contents after use are minimal and disposable scrap is considerably, reduced-to that of an injection moulded tube of this capacity, it can be further reduced by the shaping of the rear ends of both tubes nozzles '19" to accommodate pinch rollers on a mechanical dispenser. ( Not shown) n -1.
A further refinement can be that the inner tube plug 'JY can be made to pass through the outer tube cap '12' and snap into place when applied, so that when ' 12 is removed, it will also remove 1 Yand become permanently affixed to it when and if it need be replaced, Or combined into one piece if it is possible to blow mould tubes as one. Or alternately, if the two tubes can be blow moulded as a one piece dual tube, then the cap could also be one piece, making the whole assembly of just two parts.
All Product name's, Instructions for use, together with Hazard warnings can be printed directly onto the outside to prevent any likelihood of none instructed use.
Claims (1)
- 4.A dual material packaging comprising of two tubes assembled one inside the other joined together at one end by a By-pass Nozzle, when filled and scaled at the other end, will allow both materials to be ejected through a single orifice simultaneously.2. A duel material packaging as in Claim 1 where the tubes can be produced in varying sizes to allow for differing ratios of materials to be achieved.3. A duel material packaging as in Claim 1 or 2 manufactured from a flexible material, suitable for retaining and separating without contamination of the material contained within them, also suitable for withstanding the internal pressure without rupturing.4.The duel packaging as stated in Claims 1. 2. and 3 are designed for dispensing materials by squeezing by hand or mechanical means, either directly too or through a mixing tube directly to final destination of mixture.
